Mayor Eric Adams’ administration issued a plea to faith leaders this week, asking them to open their doors to some of the thousands of migrants currently in the city’s care, The Post has learned.
The administration sent out a letter to religious groups across the Big Apple asking for volunteers to provide daytime respite centers for 150 migrants, in exchange for up to $54,000 a month.
It also asked if religious centers would be willing to house 19 other migrants at night, for up to $35,500, according to the letter obtained by The Post.
The first such shelter opened in Queens this week at the Rabbinical Seminary of America Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim, which will provide beds and daily meals to 15 single adults, City Hall confirmed.

“”some of the thousands of migrants currently in the city’s care””
Put them on a bus and send them back where they came from and I don’t mean TX/AZ/NM/CA border - ALL THE WAY BACK!!!
Never, ever, ever admit your Democrat policies were foolish and wrongheaded. Never, ever, ever admit the consequences are your responsibility. Reach further into the public purse....
When all else fails, repeat the magic incantation, "Trump."
Those 15 ILLEGALS are going to just LOVE the KOSHER meals! LOL
I wonder if the immigrants like Gefilte Fish?
The real Chofetz Chaim? Just call on Antony Haman and Joe Achashverosh!
They didn’t want REGULAR American food, so the Kosher meals are going to also wind up in the garbage. This whole disastrous mess is a horror show!
The money is coming from your, children, grandchildren great grandchildren wallets. We spend money like it will not affect anyone in the future. Our children and grandchildren will have a legitimate reason to hate us. We keep burdens on them then expect them to pay all these promises. I hope SS and Medicare get repudiated. We deserve it as a group, maybe not individually but as a 34T debt country ….
Well, maybe they’ll like a hot pastrami on rye.
Is there a bus line or lines that cross the Darien Gap?
How did the Muslims respond?
Outside of Matzah and anything made with it,as well as kosher killed meat), I can't think of ANYTHING at all, that one should call "JEWISH FOOD".
Ryebread is German and other Middle European bread. So are bagels and other breadstuffs.
Potato pancakes? Yes...Polish and also some other nations' dish as well.
Corned beef? An Irish dish and also some middle European nations' too.
I enjoy learning about food history/dishes, and that's why and how I know about this.
So public tax dollars are going to go to religious institutions? How many strings does that come with??
Yeah, well, there used to be a lot of Jews in Romania, Germany, and Poland. From about the years 70 AD until 1939 AD give or take.
