Joe Biden to propose massive tax raid on super rich and corporate America in tonight's State of the Union address with sweeping hikes including minimum corporate tax up from 15% to 21% and a 25% rate for billionaires

President Joe Biden plans to launch a raid on the super rich, hiking taxes for corporations and billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.

White House officials said the steps were part of a proposed 2025 budget to be released next week, and aimed at reducing the federal deficit by $3 trillion over 10 years.

The tax plans are expected to form a core part of Biden's re-election campaign, contrasting markedly with presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, whose 2017 'Tax Cuts and Jobs Act' slashed taxes on companies and the wealthy.

This is a misdirection -

This is actually cover for the all the irs agents who will be calling the middle class in for audits, where biden would nickle and dime the middle class to death.

Meanwhile, the overspending and deficit grows by 1 trillion every 100 days.... so trying to save 3 trillion over 10 years is nothing, when it currently is growing 3 trillion in this year, and more every following year.

Let it all burn-—also, these are the people that support Biden, so let them burn as well. The ship is sinking fast-—grab all the crew and captains to go down with it.

Well let me correct myself.

It MAY be brilliant because Joe’s voters are too stupid to know they will be paying corporate taxes.

They will just be angry when they pay more and think it’s the supermarket’s fault.

He can’t EO that.

Congress, who are rich themselves, would have to agree. This is not a brilliant move during an election year.

Corporate taxes are passed to consumers, so prices will go up. And interest rates are very problematic and so taming inflation is not easy. So prices will go up.

Having no money.
Owning nothing.
Being happy, happy, happy.

Every time the Dims said that they’d raise taxes on the rich they wound up raising my taxes too. Every time. Even when I was making less than $7/hr.

Hey leftscum idiots (obviously not referring to Freepers), big corporations don’t actually pay the taxes. They pass the costs on to their consumers — us little people. Morons.

I’m in favor of this. Tax the hell out of them. Change the tax code so investment income is taxed the same as salaried income and get rid of the carried interest deduction. I’m 100% in favor of taxing the hell out of the wealthy. If they want socialism, give it to them good and hard.

Of course, election year class warfare pandering, democrats do it every election. He knows it will never see the time of day in the Republican house, but then he can claim they only care about the rich.

I'd also tax corporations on the number of employees they have living below the poverty line or are on benefits of some kind. Don't want to pay your employees? Fine. It will be more expensive to pay the tax than the employees.

And tax them on worldwide income so they can't offshore their profits and claim that they didn't make money in the US.
