Nearly a decade on, Hollywood’s increased diversity may be something to celebrate, but its uneven inclusion efforts certainly are not.
Case in point: the Motion Picture Academy’s newly implemented Inclusion and Representation Standards for Best Picture.

But one thing is missing from this mandate: Jews. According to the Academy, Jews – a mere 2.1% of the US population — are not considered minorities.
Last December, my organization, Jew in the City, penned an open letter to the Academy decrying this lack of representation signed by 450 entertainment professionals, including David Schwimmer, Amy Schumer, Juliana Margulies, Noah Schnapp, Jason Alexander, Brett Gelman, Ginnifer Goodwin, Amy Sherman-Palladino, David Shore, Greg Berlanti, and Marta Kauffman.

Jews invented Hollywood. It was never meant to be this horrible when it started. If they want to destroy to destroy themselves in modern-day Hollyweird, I’d like to thank tthem for excluding Jews.

Actual number is about 1.4%. You get to the 2.0-2.2 number by including people who might have a Jewish ancestor but don't consider themselves Jewish.
“Inclusion and Representation Standards” are basically just a form of quotas in disguise; I would think the last thing Jews in Hollywood would want to provide is any implicit support for anything even resembling quotas, since that’s one of the primary ways they’ve been messed with historically.
There are many, many Jews in Hollywood. Even performers who don’t have Jewish names often have a Jewish parent. But doing a lot of explicitly Jewish projects was seen as limiting, ghettoizing. A push for more of those projects now would have the same ho-hum effect as the other DEI films and shows. Emphasizing distinctiveness doesn’t always bring us together either.
I do like the occasional movie where the Gentile main characters are played by Jews and the Jewish main characters are played by Gentiles. They remind us that acting is about acting, not about ethnic identity and bloodlines.
