I got that crazy idea from Freepers who opine that he was a commie, wife beating charlatan.
I once said something positive about Dr.King here on Free Republic, and was criticized by quite a few people here for such an opinion. Because I was told he was a whore chasing, whore beating communist sympathizer.
Negative opinions of Dr. King are not uncommon on Free Republic.

The Dems will have to run their own black candidate to have any chance at all.No, they don't. Look at KY. Democrat Governor Beshear easily won re-election against the black Republican nominee. Yet every other race in the state voted (R).

The Kentucky teacher’s union is very powerful. Beshear ran a scare campaign on two topics:
1. that the GOP candidate was going harm education and so many believed it,
2. He was going to harm state gov & teacher retirements. Note whichever should be “harmed” it’s in very bad shape - too lucrative. Kentucky has a huge state pension fund insolvency problem.

Judge by the content of the character not by the color of the skin.
