The Dems will have to run their own black candidate to have any chance at all.

No, they don't. Look at KY. Democrat Governor Beshear easily won re-election against the black Republican nominee. Yet every other race in the state voted (R).

The Kentucky teacher’s union is very powerful. Beshear ran a scare campaign on two topics:

1. that the GOP candidate was going harm education and so many believed it,
2. He was going to harm state gov & teacher retirements. Note whichever should be “harmed” it’s in very bad shape - too lucrative. Kentucky has a huge state pension fund insolvency problem.

He ran a typical RINO like campaign.
