Texas tells Trump of 99% decline in illegal immigration in ‘DJT Brief’ at border after National Guard soldiers ratcheted up barricades and installed concertina wires

EAGLE PASS, Texas — When former President Donald Trump visited ground zero of the monumental scuffle between Texas and the Biden administration, state officials revealed illegal crossings in the area shrunk by a seismic 99% virtually overnight.

The Washington Examiner obtained Friday a copy of the 11-page report titled "DJT Brief" that relayed to Trump the major achievement during his visit to Eagle Pass on Thursday afternoon.

The briefing document. which was presented as PowerPoint slides to Trump, shows that during the height of the surge of illegal immigrants in Eagle Pass in December 2023, upward of 4,000 people illegally crossed per day and were arrested by Border Patrol.

On Jan. 11, when the state took over a 2 1/2-mile stretch of the border that included the park, National Guard soldiers ratcheted up barricades on the border and installed immeasurable amounts of concertina wire up and down the area. At 6:30 a.m. that morning, the state sealed off the park from all federal employees over concerns that Border Patrol agents were cutting through their wire to rescue and arrest immigrants trapped in it, only to later release them into the United States.

The "DJT Brief" backed up claims that Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) made during remarks at the visit Thursday in which he stated that locking down Eagle Pass had a huge impact on curtailing illegal immigration in the region.

After taking over the city grounds, state authorities apprehended a total of 381 immigrants at Shelby Park that month, an average of 18 arrests per day compared to more than 4,000 arrests per day at the height of the surge.

I believe this is only for the 2 1/2 mile Eagle Pass stretch.

Texas has a big border.

Much of that border is extremely inhospitable and has high cliffs. It would be very difficult, especially if they are people not acclimated to a desert. Other areas still have Trump’s wall. Only Eagle pass and near Brownsville are really still accessible

“ In terms of border security, concertina wire is a cut above.”

The first cut is the deepest.

Well, it is, but I drove from Del Rio to Big Bend National Park (there really isn’t a border road in this section) but it is fairly inaccessible for illegals and then from Big Bend to the end of the road a few years ago, which was only 70 miles. The road here hugs the border quite a bit, but this section is fairly inaccessible. There are miles of high bluffs on either side of the border. We drove to Presidio TX, which is accessible, but for whatever reason, hardly any come that way.

So despite, Texas’ long border, much of the geography naturally discourages illegal immigration. I assume most of the illegals enter east of Del Rio along the RGV.

Then onto El Paso which is accessible, I guess either north or south of the city.

I think what most people don’t understand is that FJB is the sacrificial lamb for the radical evil left wing communist bastards. They have what they wanted millions of new voters. So in reality in their eyes, they don’t care if FJB wins or not. The marxist left wing have accomplished what they have been dreaming of all these years! Forget DACA and trying to arm wrestle the Republicans into submission in helping pass amnesty …in less than three years, they got their wildest dream come true. Million+ illegal invader voters to keep them in power for many many years to come if America survives.

That’s up from the first few days. Still manageable.
