The 13-year-old boy gunned down in Brooklyn late Thursday frantically called his mom to tell her he’d been shot — before collapsing dead on the sidewalk, sources told The Post.
Troy Gill was targeted in what may have been a rival gang hit when he was sprayed with bullets about three blocks from his Crown Heights home around 10:30 p.m., sources said Friday.
The teen had just returned to the neighborhood in an Uber with a pal after catching a Brooklyn Nets game at the Barclays Center, according to the sources.
He was blasted four times in the chest and upper body at Bergen Street and New York Avenue — then dialed his mom to tell her he’d been shot and that he was running toward the nearby Brooklyn Children’s Museum, sources said.
The gravely wounded boy — who sources said was affiliated with the Drench Crew gang — ran around the corner to Brooklyn Avenue and St. Marks Avenue before crumpling to the ground, authorities said. ...
Gill was walking on a block where the Drench Crew typically hangs out, and sources believe he was targeted in the late-night violence by an opposition gang. ...

“Troy was a good kid,” the man said outside the family’s home Friday. “He wanted to be … [an] aspiring rapper, basketball player. He is a good dude — 13 years old.”

I grieve when I consider all the fine music I will never hear.

I can’t imagine being allowed to go to a pro sports game with a friend when I was 13.
Stupid prize awarded.
Yea, I do t feel sorry for that kid or their family. The aspiring rapper would have soaked the taxpayers money either behind bars or on the outside. Good riddance.
Well the kid fell off the “Moms” welfare roll. Time to get knocked up again if her clock is still running. Yes, what I said is cruel, prove me wrong the Mom isn’t NY scum and worthy of the criticism based on what we know of her as a parent.
13 out late by himself without his parents...
Riding in Uber...
Gee what could go wrong...
James Cagney’s iconic line in WHITE HEAT (1949)
“Made. it, Ma! Top of the world!”
ranks #18 on the American. Film Institute’s “Greatest Movie Quotes Of All Time.”
One of my favorite scenes in cinema.

Selling drugs is cool...until it isn’t.
Nor could I.
So I ain’t as classy as some of your uptown pals. Can’t find a video in black and white. Sorry.
.....you may be somewhat right but on July 2, 1964, (60 years ago), arguably, a white man (Lyndon Baines Johnson) murdered Troy and hundreds, if not thousands, like him when he and his then Democrat pals, along with a lot of RINO’s, passed The Civil Rights Act of 1964 which triggered the destruction of black families everywhere.
Somewhere after that federal welfare began rewarding moms like Troy’s to have more kids and it paid more (somehow, I don’t know exactly how) if the father did not live in the house. Ultimately, this one fact, most agree, destroyed the then solid black family unit.
So, if we’re going to blame Troy’s mom how bout let’s blame the Democrats and Lyndon Baines Johnson, the original election thief.
...I thought that guns were illegal in NYC?
Great movie. Watch it whenever it’s on. One of my other favorite lines: if that battery is dead, it will have company. Virginia Mayo nice on eyes too.
Of course, an aspiring rapper.
Close, got the perps right, but it was The Great Society not the Civil Rights Act
*good kid/good dude* and *gang member* are mutually exclusive.
Oh fuking well...............
