Texas attorney general sues school district alleging illegal electioneering

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has sued a local school district, alleging it engaged in illegal electioneering by using official email accounts to encourage employees to vote for specific legislative candidates who opposed school choice vouchers.

The lawsuit filed this week against the Denton Independent School District alleges a director of special programs and as many as two principals sent emails on official school district account encouraging employees to vote for legislative candidates who oppose school choice candidates.

One of the email “encourages the staff of Borman Elementary School to vote in the Republican primary, even if the staff member is not a Republican, ‘for candidates who support public education and school funding,’” the lawsuit noted. “It states that ‘historically, 85% of PRIMARY voters3 in TX want vouchers. That’s why it is so important that teachers and public school and funding advocates show up at the primaries.’”

Paxton said state law strictly prohibits the use public education funds and resources for election activities.

Denton is a liberal hell hole. Don’t send your kids to UNT. If you do you will regret it!

This needs to happen at the granular level all across your country. For far too long people have looked the other away assuming this was harmless. It is absolutely corruption that start at the local level and migrates all along the political spectrum.

So what does suing them achieve? They need to be arrested.

“Don’t send your kids to UNT. If you do you will regret it!”

But if you do, make sure to go to the UNT bookstore and buy a coffee mug.

I think it is still a red county. Throw out the college dead weight and it would be even redder.

Suing is going on offense.

The cabal wants us to think suing them doesn’t achieve anything.

This is all about holding the narrative. We have a massive advantage because our narrative is true and theirs is false.

It is a shame that more “Republican” AG don’t sue the hell out of the Left in their states. There is so much low hanging fruit. But of course, most of them don’t have the backbone that Paxton has and too many are just Rinos who don’t understand we are in a war.

The individuals should be sued and forced to reimburse the district—with treble damages.

Then go after them with criminal charges.

They need to make an example out of these clowns.

"I think it is still a red county. Throw out the college dead weight and it would be even redder."

Throwing out ultra-liberal colleges would be great, but is probably not a viable option. If Denton County is still "red" at all, it is the palest possible shade of pink.

Whites will be a minority in Denton any minute now if they aren't already. This county which once gave astronomical margins to Reagan and Bush is barely a 55% R county now -- and decreasing.

Demographics and Election Results from Denton County, TX

As can be seen here, the 2020 precinct-level election map shows that the area around Denton and the southeastern part of the county are already pretty bad.

Collin County, also formerly quite nice, is even worse than Denton. There's a non-insignificant chance that it will vote red -- commie pinko red -- in November.

school vouchers will kill public education and really help private, church based and possibly even home schools. I say good, let the market dictate. Get off the woke agenda and start teaching useful things and enforcing discipline.

We have one middle school that has had 184 fights on campus this year so far. Ferals of course.

My local R party officials said they don’t recommend school board because it is non-partisan. Not sure what world they are living in but school boards are totally partisan. Many running are tied to unions.

A school named after Borman. Is that Martin Bormann?

He needs to arrest them, not just suing. Use lawfare against Dems.

Does the legislation that forbids this have consequences where violators can be arrested? If it doesn’t there can’t be an arrest. If that’s the case the legislation is an example of conservative virtue signaling for votes.

I agree 100% with you except for the part they can’t be arrested. Do it anyway. The left does it. And until we use lawfare against them we will never win.
