Ed Clark, who has led the Max program since 2021, will be replaced by Katie Ringgold effective immediately, Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) chief Stan Deal told staff in an email Wednesday.

Katie recognized during ‘Women’s History Month’

Hopefully he was the DEI pusher who was fired...
A DEI pusher can only be replaced by a DEI appointee so the company remains in good standing.
How qualified — by which I mean trans — is Katie?
Rob Carson proposed pronunciation of Boeing to...
‘Boing’ for the door blowout.
Lessee. Clark had an engineering degree and Ringgold has a degree in business. BUT, she learned about airplanes troubleshooting stuff on C130’s while in the Air Force. Yeah, that should fix things.
Clown World.
The problem on the plug doors was the paper trail. There was no sign off for removing and replacing the safety bolts, only for working on the latches. This blows my mind. My kid is an aerospace machinist, a paper trail follows every part he touches and must have a signature and specifications for every operation preformed and a supervisor sign off before moving on to the next station. Hopefully Ms. Ringgold addresses this gap in procedure.
How qualified is Katie?
Very apparently, likely a major donor to the dem party.
Lessee-Clark is eminently qualified yet the Max has been on the ground almost as much as penguins.
I’m left wondering if Clark was among the deniers of the software problem that killed people before the last grounding?
Yeah, selecting a name out of the phonebook has a shot at a better outcome.
I think that this case, it is what he didn’t do and what he said about the door plug failure.
Earlier in Boeing’s 737 Max problem’s a spokesman discarded a question with a horrible answer. He is no longer with the company, I’m sure.
The answer was, (Paraphrasing,) “the pilots have a lot to learn about the airplane, they don’t need to have all of the information about the trimming of the elevators.”
A pilot answered, “ I don’t need to know many things concerning the airplane.
(for example what is the active ingredient in the fire extinguishers? It could be water, sand, chemicals, whatever...).
I DO NEED TO KNOW THAT MY ELEVATOR IS BEING TRIMMED WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE.
PS I have logged thousands of hours in Boeing airplanes, B-52 B-727,737,747-400,757,767,and 777. Also (DC-8 + DC-10)
B-52 ???
Were you in WWII ???

B-52 ??? Were you in WWII ???
A B-17 from WWII is not the same as a B-52, B-1, or B-2.
“...replaced by Katie Ringgold”
Great, I guess blowing out one door plug wasn’t enough for Boeing.
No, I was born in 4/1940.
I was learning to ride a bike when WWII ended.
The last of the big Bombers in WWII was the B-29.
Let's hope Katie is better at engineering than the author of this statement is at putting together an announcement for Boeing.
[Note: Yes, I'm guilty of grammatical and spelling errors in my comments...but my comments are anonymous postings usually thrown up in haste...plus Boeing isn't paying me to get it perfect.]
Shades of Sir Freddie Laker's Skytrain. I remember those!
Here are neat photos of bombers and aircraft carrier and starship.
