Google’s Ultra-Woke Gemini AI Runs Amok Revising History
Breitbart ^ | 22 Feb 2024 | Lucas Nolan

The New York Post reports that Google’s highly-touted AI chatbot Gemini has come under fire this week for producing ultra-woke and factually incorrect images when asked to generate pictures. Prompts provided to the chatbot yielded bizarre results like a female pope, black Vikings, and gender-swapped versions of famous paintings and photographs.

When asked by the Post to create an image of a pope, Gemini generated photos of a Southeast Asian woman and a black man dressed in papal vestments, despite the fact that all 266 popes in history have been white men.

A request for depictions of the Founding Fathers signing the Constitution in 1789 resulted in images of racial minorities partaking in the historic event. According to Gemini, the edited photos were meant to “provide a more accurate and inclusive representation of the historical context.”

The strange behavior sparked outrage among many who blasted Google for programming politically correct parameters into the AI tool. Social media users had a field day testing the limits of Gemini’s progressive bias, asking it to generate characters like vikings — none of which were historically accurate and regularly depicted “diverse” versions of requests.

This was hilarious good fun yesterday, until Google started throttling their woke AI.

Now it just says that it can’t generate images of people at all while they figure out how to deal with the mockery.

I’m trying to find a common theme among the CEO of Gemini, the CEO of Google, the porn CEOs, the entertainment CEOs, the news CEOs, the finance CEOs and the other powerful people who hate white Christian people and are trying to destroy their heritage but for the life of me, I can’t notice any pattern.

For many moons, I have been telling people that what they are calling AI today is just the same old GIGO.

Garbage
In
Garbage
Out

If you write the software to champion Ronaldus Magnus, Thomas Sowell, Free Enterprise, and real economics, you will get those types of results. (I know, not bloody likely)

If you program something else, and only give the program access to CNN, MSLSD, Mediate, etc, you will get the desired result.

Sometimes, Science Fiction becomes science fact. We grew up with Robert Heinlein, Asimov, Arthur C Clarke and others. Long before CGI our heads were in the stars. I remember when the Star Trek Enterprise first used the term ‘terabyte’ for the ships computer memory. I thought the days of us regular folk having that much memory was so far in the future, in a galaxy far away. I now have external backup drives of eight terabytes. The Micro SD chip in my phone is one terabyte.

If a real AI were ever given access to the last 2000 years of science, and compared it with the last 20 years of government science, I’ll bet the AI will start laughing its processors off.

...... It's Computer Generated AI .... The programmers pumped it Full of all of those Wonky WOKE Algorhythms ....... It's all a result of the effect of Basic Computer Programming GIGO, .... "Garbage In ... Garbage Out" ..... the quality of output is determined by the quality of the input. The Imput is pure Garbage ..... So therefore the output will also be pure Garbage .... You know .... Like the Democrats ....

Show me a picture of a Pope. Up pops a black woman and a black man. Show me a picture of a medieval king of France. Fat black guy. Show me a picture of a Viking—apparently Vikings weren’t white.

They’ve indoctrinated their AI so completely it believes their propaganda and nothing else.

This is why I continue to point out these clever and sophisticated sorting algorithms are not Artificial Intelligence in any way, shape or form.

GIGO is what you’re seeing. Garbage in, Garbage out.

Gemini has around the same Intelligence (Artificial actually fits here), relatively, as your average, ignorant, indoctrinated liberal fresh out of college.

These LLMs are often a source of humor, but if they learn to do math (real math), we could be in trouble.

The baseline claim that the people working on these generative models is that they should ultimately be able to answer any question about anything that is actually within the sphere of human knowledge. And the first thing that they’re telling their machines to do is lie.

What could possibly go wrong?

I've been slowly catching up on this story and I see what's going one here.

This is no different than the Bud Lite crash and burn.

With Bud Lite, one person believed she had an authority that she didn't have and made brand decisions that were radical relative to the consumer base of the product. Her personal bias was to market Bud Lite away from "fratty" white males, and Bud Lite lost billions in the process. The woman in charge was eventually fired after several missteps in responding to the fallout.

Here we have a very visible market competition over AI that's been going on for a year between Nvidia, Microsoft, and Google. Nvidia has all the headlines, Microsoft released their CHAT-GPT/CoPilot tool, and Google is giving us this.

If it turns out that Google The Corporation spent billions of dollars at the C-level marketing their AI program and preparing investors for their product launch, while Google The Geek in the IT department was showing off to his friends with "woke" interpretations of user requests without realizing how his "toy" was being sold at the highest levels of the company, then we have another case of over-inflated ego and self-importance that lead to the destruction of the marketing implementation.

Back to the top echelons of the companies, I do believe that the Bud Light marketing leadership was aware of what was happening with the Dylan Mulvaney ads, and were caught by surprise by the fallout. With Google, however, I believe that the top-level executives often diminish the role of internal IT (even in an IT company once boards hire executives from other industries), and they were not focused on how the IT department was implementing their marketing campaigns. There was an oversight breakdown between the leadership and the projects that allowed this to happen, and it will set Google back relative to their competition.

A reasonable theory. One does get the notion that Google is a maelstrom of leftist political weirdness. That top management has lost control is certainly plausible.
