Remington, the nation's oldest gun manufacturer, which has been located for more than 200 years in Ilion, New York, will move to LaGrange, Georgia, on March 4.
"Two hundred and eight years of history. Gone, gone," Ilion Mayor John P. Stephens told the New York Times. "Ilion is Remington. Remington is Ilion."

I tried checking this story out here but did not find it posted, so here it is for those that did not know. Georgia is a good state, but Atlanta sucks. My Alabama here would have been a better choice. We are solid Trump, conservative, PRO guns, hunting, shooting, and are a FREE CARRY without a permit for ALL Law-Abiding Citizens!! No permit needed unless of course you travel outside of the state, I have one for this purpose when we visit states that recognize's Bama's permit.

Makes you wonder why they made that choice. I would’ve thought Tennessee or Idaho.

Remington transplanted to only moderately favorable ground, a few miles west, and they would have been in Alabama, and largely beyond the evil influence of Atlanta. That place is a cesspool.

Should a lot of companies leave NY?
To: ActresponsiblyinVA
If it helps them in the long run, yes.

I suggest once NYC hits rock bottom, we declare the city a memorial. A memorial to the evils of Democratic government and policies. Let all visit to be shocked at the horror of a once great city.

There are already several firearms companies that have set up shop in Georgia. Off the top of my head there is Glock. Taurus and H&K.

I can’t be sorry for NY’s and NYC’s slide.
The leaders and the folks who vote for them are to blame for the demise of a, once great, state deserve to have a “Non-memorial!”
Hold them and the voters of the NYC and lower, Not upstate, counties, to blame.

When rock bottom is finally reached, the only things that should be left in NYC are the gangbangers, the illegal aliens, the homeless and the RAT politicians that rule over em all. Everything, and everybody else: loooonnngggg gone.

A fraternity brother of mine was from Ilion, NY. The town was one of many that were famous for their production of great firearms in that area of New York State.
One shotgun was the “LC Smith.” It was a double barrelled 12 gauge gun.
Smith, later left the firearm business and went on to develop the “Smith Corona” typewriter.
Cheers, and thank you for your Service,
Bat

In the 1980s my husband considered opening an office of our construction business in NY and decided it was too tough with the unions, the bribes, the regulations etc. and it must be a ton worse now. I have so much respect for what Trump built. And now the ingrates are stealing it for themselves.

NY is slowly committing suicide.
There is a new ruling about banks which may be the death knell for smaller, regional banks. Something to do with commercial loans and all, but not being a financial person, I don’t quite get. However, between that and this Trump travesty, I can see a lot of people pulling their money out of NY regional banks.

Yes, all of them.
NY is so business hostile, that anyone who keeps one there or opens one up these days is a fool.

The grand opening for Smith & Wesson was here south of Knoxville a few months ago. Left New England for a red state.
