seems like we have many dead bodies being found all over the USA. They may not be helicopter pilots but they are dead and the killers and causes are often unknown.

Usually aircraft defections have interesting stories and they use some good planning and airmanship. But this guy had it coming. There were two other guys on his aircrew and he murdered them as part of his plan.

The guy stole a Russian helicopter and flew it to the Ukrainians, sop he was a bonified traitor. The US would never have the stones to do what the Russians did to pay the traitor back.

The two crew members with him were unaware of the plot and were shot by Ukrainian forces when they refused to surrender, according to officials. The Ukrainian government later announced that the pilot had received a $500,000 reward in local currency and encouraged other Russian service members to follow suit.

So the guy steals a helicopter, gets his two crew-mates (who were unaware) killed by Ukrainians, hands over jet engine parts to Ukraine (and the West) - and collects $500K blood money.
