On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher stated that under our current system, immigration hasn’t been positive for the U.S. and the reaction of sanctuary cities to having migrants bused to them shows this.
Maher began by saying that “some immigration” is “the lifeblood of this country.”
Later in the segment, CNN Senior Political Commentator and former Obama Adviser Van Jones stated, “Immigration is good for America. It’s positive for America.”

Hey Bill Maher- read the stats on illegals in my profile page- illegals are disastrous for,this nation, costing us well over $1 Trillion Dollars every year when all,the costs associated with illegals is calculated. (Ie direct costs, and incidental costs)
Incorrect. Plenty of Indian immigrants have come over and our helping our tech sector stay ahead of the world. I personally know of some incredibly smart African immigrants who are also doing great in the tech world.
Immigration used to,be a privilege, and most immigrants were very grateful tO get legal status after passing the requirements for citizenship. They used to want things in life, and work towards achieving those goals to the betterment of th3mselves AND this nation

Ditto. My Dad’s family arrived from Weimar, Germany in 1927. Arrived almost penniless and worked their way up without a dime of support. Within five years, my grandfather had bought land north of NYC in Westchester County and a few years later completed his own house built with his own hands.
My Mom’s family got to Ontario, Canada from England in the 1860s and worked their way westward eventually settling in British Columbia. My Grandmother came to the states in 1927 and settled in Idaho where Mom was born. Didn’t get a dime from anybody.
There was PRIDE in those days about NOT going on any dole. These days all we get is the perpetually angry entitlement mentality and, worse, we feed it nonstop. Liberals argue “compassion” but it is not compassionate to breed life-long welfare recipients who hate us.
Everything about the system stinks.
We need to completely pause all immigration for ten or twenty years.

Our current "system" is massive government spending and massive debt in printed, fiat money - spread through dependent and loyal leftist political blocs, whose living depends on spouting the failed neo-marxist and progressive line.

It would be better if the states got their act together and collectively sent the Fed illegal alien parolees to District of Columbia to wait for their trials. They are the feds problem to food and housing, not the states. They are violating Article IV, Sect 4 of the US Constitution.
