Judge fines Donald Trump more than $300 million, bars him from running businesses in N.Y. for three years

The judge who presided over a civil business fraud trial against Donald Trump and his company has issued his decision in the case.

Judge Arthur Engoron ordered the former president and the Trump Organization to pay over $364 million in damages, and bars Trump "from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or other legal entity in New York for a period of three years."

The judgment is the second this year against Trump after he was hit last month with an $83.3 million verdict in writer E. Jean Carroll's defamation case against him. The former president could also face four criminal trials this year as his presidential campaign barrels toward the November election, with the first set to begin in New York state court on March 25th.

New York Attorney General Letitia James had been seeking $370 million from Trump, his company and its top executives, including his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, alleging "repeated and persistent fraud" that included falsifying business records and financial statements. James had argued those financial statements were at times exaggerated by as much as $2.2 billion.

Immediate appeal.

At now time during the trial was any “victim” ever presented who said they were defrauded by Trump, and the banks, whose loans to Trump were said to have been based on false valuations of his properties TESTIFIED that they were not defrauded by Trump and the they got their money back.

So why the trial and why the verdict?

They are trying to tie up some of Trump’s money so he can’t spend it on his campaign.

The most, liberal, commie biased judges reside in NY. Forget about the Constitution, there is none in NYS. Throw the scumbags out.

He’s going to have to post cash or a bond in the amount of 120% of the judgment amount. Once his appeals are completed, whatever amount is left standing (he might be able to get a reduction in the amount) would then be paid from that. His appeals are not going to take twenty years.

There still is presidential immunity. It just doesn’t cover everything one might do outside their official duties.

I was asking that on another thread. Where can he file suit though? If it’s in New York forget it, New York is ridiculously corrupt.

No surprise here. The AG James and the judge are psycho, left wing freaks. Trump is Tom Hanks in the Bonfire of the Vanities. Caught in a web of corruption. I’m not sure if Trump can get any justice in NY.

Your analogy is stupid and offensive.

If the judge screwed up because of political considerations it will be overturned. If the facts don’t support the decision, it will be overturned.

All of these BS rulings will be thrown out on appeal. And I hope Trump gets better lawyers for the appeals.

So I wonder how long it will take the appellate courts to stay this?

"Even though the D.C. courts have ruled that there is no presidential immunity, judges and prosecutors both have absolute immunity for their judicial and prosecutorial decisions."

Rules for thee, but not for me. It's my belief that when a Judge, District Attorney, Attorney General, etc., let a repeat violent offender back out on the street, and that offender turns around and kills or maims another innocent person, the individual that allowed that person to walk the streets, should be held criminally responsible alongside the perp they cut loose. If that rule was applied, "cashless bail" would no longer exist.

Laws, or mostly the paperwork are insane in Ny.
I’m fighting an assessment. Have an non income producing apartment. Lawyer tells me to write in a rent income from that apartment. Isn’t that lying? Isn’t that saying I make more than I actually do? Then the way numbers are calculated, it makes it seem like there’s a HUGE profit.

Not good, but could be worse. The present, stayed by the appeals court, order, I believe, required the revocation of the business licenses of all entities in which he has an ownership interest. Changing the domicile of his baines’s should fix that part of this order, or he could just resign from his leadership positions

If we NYSers support this, why does Deep State have to steal our elections?

Continuing prayers for Pres. Trump and his family.

Pure election interference.

The intent with these soviet style lawsuits is to tie up his financial resources so as to harm his ability to campaign the way he wants/needs.

Talk about an "assault on our democracy!"

Problem our "side" find's ourselves in is that ~1/2 the country is not only fine with this evil lawfare tactic...they fully embrace and promote it as well.

And, it will most definitely not stop with getting Trump. The commies won't call it quits if they succeed in getting the front man out of the picture.

I think most people have no idea just how close we are to truly loosing this country.
