FJB: Grocery chains should drop their profit margins from 2% to 1% - greedy bastards!
Shows ya commies dont want anyone making ANY money
Have they ever reached 2%. I always remember 1%
I’m not going to pretend that I know what kind of margins grocery stores have, but I would imagine like a lot of other retail enterprises, you NEED margins to that would seems significant to your average consumer, because they aren’t considering costs, expenses and overhead. Labor costs typically being one of the highest. You can’t just look at gross revenue, which is the simple calculation of subtracting a unit cost from a unit sale.
I’m not apologizing for grocery chains, because maybe their margins are higher, which would exclude the fact that their own inventory costs are also higher, but doesn’t take into account the fact that inflation has hit almost every other expenses that you have in operating a store, including having to pay employees more because no one seems to want to work anymore.
Then he can claim a 50% drop in grocery store profits to lower prices.
Don’t be too tough on them. I can guarantee no one in the administration has any idea what you’re talking about. They are that stupid. Gotta get Big Grocery!
Exactly. The stupidity of democrats on issues of business practices is
breathtaking.
Exactly. Its normally a volume business. Very thin margins. That’s why they all have been trying to go to prepared foods rather than just trying to sell third party products.
Out of curiosity what do you suppose the profit margin is for politicians?
I have done accounting for over 66 years.
I worked in the offices of 4 different grocery chains-—Madison, Wis KROGER
Milwaukee, Wis IGA
Los Angeles, Cal Hughes & Thriftimart
I have never heard of their profit being over 1.5%
