One of my favorite lines in movie history—full disclosure, I love silly comedies—is when Leslie Nielsen, portraying the unbelievably inept Lt. Frank Drebin in 1988's "The Naked Gun," stands in front of a flame-engulfed fireworks store as massive explosions burst around him and loudly declares, "All right—move along—nothing to see here! Please disperse! NOTHING TO SEE HERE!"
That's how I feel when I read that ultra-left-wing billionaire George Soros is preparing to take a massive stake in the nation's second-largest chain of broadcast radio stations, the currently bankrupt "Audacy." Even though the move hasn’t attracted a ton of attention, it's anything but funny, as the financier is likely to exert his influence over the network to promote his anti-American socialist viewpoint.
He's pumped in over $400 million to the effort:
George Soros is poised to take a massive stake in the nation’s second-largest radio company, which owns more than 220 stations nationwide, according to court filings and sources close to the situation.
The left-leaning billionaire’s Soros Fund Management has bought up $400 million of debt in Audacy — the No. 2 US radio broadcaster behind iHeartMedia with stations including New York’s WFAN and 1010 WINS, as well as Los Angeles-based KROQ, according to bankruptcy filings.
One insider close to the situation, noting that he was a Republican, said he believed it was possible Soros was buying the stake to exert influence on public opinion in the months leading up to the 2024 presidential election.
“This is scary,” the source said.
Soros is no stranger to controversy and seems to revel in ruffling feathers. Although some on the left contend that any criticism of him constitutes antisemitism, the truth is his Jewish background has nothing to do with why many on the right consider him a danger to society. I and many other critics have zero interest in his religion—it’s his actions we deplore.
Among many other things, he has been a big backer of woke, soft-on-crime district attorneys like LA’s notorious George Gascón, Philly’s Larry Krasner, Manhattan’s farce of a prosecutor, Alvin Bragg, and so many others who have contributed to the sense of lawlessness currently plaguing the United States.
It’s not the only recent media move by the mogul – his fund was part of a group of lenders that bought Vice Media out of bankruptcy last year, and he’s also taken a minority stake in podcast company Crooked Media.
It remains to be seen what Soros intends to do with his new toys, but like a James Bond villain, we can be sure he’ll play with them. It’s entirely likely that he will use all the powers at his disposal to try to install Joe Biden into another disastrous presidential term that will further weaken America and slide us ever closer to some sort of perverted socialism.
There is actually something to see here, and I’m pretty sure we're not going to like it.
I thought that FCC regulation forbids foreign ownership of US television or radio broadcasting assets.
There’s a misprint here. It’s not “Leftist” Billionaire...it’s *Maoist* Billionaire.
No one will listen to it. He’s probably putting them out of business on purpose.
IIRC he’s a US citizen.
How many even listen to radio anymore?
Millions...........This is aimed right at Talk Radio. They know Rush’s legacy rewrote the AM and now FM business models.
They aim to kill it outright.
The third anniversary of Rush passing is Saturday, 17 February........
Obviously the SEC and FCC ordered this to happen.
Maybe it’s a good thing that nobody listens to the radio anymore.
Whether it EV car companies NOT wanting the AM band to continue, or this creep conniving his way into talk radio destruction, make no mistake TALK RADIO is the target, NOT making money!
Who’s noboby?
Everyone I know does.
The Senate’s passage of the Biden funding bill made George Soros very happy.
Is this another source of income for Soros, for his financing lefties in the US govt?
J Street Lobby Backstory——On Friday, October 20th, 2023, the Biden Administration sent a Supplemental Funding Request to the Congress that contains key priorities for the American Jewish community:
Please urge your federal elected officials to take action by sending an email below or picking up the phone to call using the script at the end of this form. Your advocacy will help ensure Congress passes the Supplemental Budget Request, which includes the following:
<><>$14.3 Billion in Emergency assistance to Israel: This emergency assistance will bolster Israel’s ability to defend herself and replenish vital defense systems, including the Iron Dome and David’s Sling missile defense programs.
<><>Increased Funding for FEMA’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP): Jewish communities are in a state of elevated readiness and have already been forced to increase their security measure. FEMA’s Nonprofit “Security Grant Program” helps ensure the safety and security of Jewish and other faith-based community institutions. The increased funding included in Biden’s Supplemental Budget Request will help bolster our Jewish community’s capacity to protect itself at this challenging time.
<><>$61.4 Billion in Emergency Assistance to Ukraine: The J Street Lobby stands in solidarity with Ukraine and supports efforts to strengthen its democracy in the face of aggression. This funding will aid Ukraine’s efforts to safeguard its democracy and protect its citizens. Jewish Federations are actively engaged in supporting the Ukrainian people—including by resettling over 2,600 displaced Ukrainians across the United States—and we seek continued U.S. support for these critical efforts.

J street Lobby Policy on the US-Israel Special Relationship
(with the financial help of $750 million from George Soros).
J Street believes that maintaining a strong, vibrant US-Israel relationship is a core American interest. We want to see a secure, thriving Israel that is a healthy democracy, a national home for the Jewish people and a state for all its citizens that embodies the shared values that have long formed the heart of the special relationship between our two countries. We believe that American diplomatic leadership has an important role to play in helping to make this vision a reality, as does cooperation in (financing) Israel’s security, economic, technological, academic and civil society spheres.
WIKI-—Confidential IRS documents obtained by The Washington Times in 2010 showed that George Soros had been a donor to J Street since 2008. The approximately $750,000 from Soros and his family, together with donations from Hong Kong-based businesswoman Ms. Consolacion Esdicul, amounted to about 15% of J Street’s funding in its early years.
In previous statements and on its web site J Street had seemed to deny receiving support from foreign interests and from Soros.
Jeremy Ben-Ami apologized for earlier “misleading” statements regarding funding from Soros. Ben-Ami also clarified that donors to 501(c)(4) organizations are promised confidentiality by law and challenged critics to make public the contributions from opposing organizations.
“Misleading’ Of course... No wonder the Mossad hasn’t bothered with Soros. He provides support.
Satan isn't wasting any time!
The biggest is iHeart whose Premiere syndicator
has Hannnity, Beck, Travis & Sexton etc (and did
Rush when he was alive). In Boston Entercom, now
Audacity, had WRKO talk radio but it was spun off
to iHeart in the CBS radio deal (limit of number of
stations in a city). iHeart also has Talk 1200
which has the syndicated shows and WBZ who has
one talker, who leans right.
Audacy has sports radio WEEI which may get into
politics.
Generally the syndicated talkers Premiere has lean
right. At one point the iHeart (then Clear Channel)
talker in Providence, WHJJ, went the Air America
route. Ratings plummeted so they said “the progressive
talk experiment is over” and went conservative
Our local major conservative talk radio stations are owned by Cumulus out of Atlanta, IIRC, and I have been told they are liberal...........
Good call.
What’s the point, when Marxistt state tee vee has already lost its stranglehold on the normie masses?
Wrangling the airwaves away from the people’s pundits makes complete sense.
It’s a good thing that hardly anyone listens to terrestrial radio these days. Those stations have teeny tiny little news departments that no one listens to.
Radio like that is good for conservative talk radio and sports. Thats it.
