The court filing is in response to Trump's effort to prevent a court ruling that rejected his broad immunity claim from going into effect.
Special counsel Jack Smith asked the Supreme Court on Wednesday to reject an emergency application filed by Donald Trump that sought to further delay the former president's criminal trial arising from efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

What Jack Smith is not saying is that the verdict against Trump is already been made and that they just need a show trial to announce it, but it has to be before the election.
It's all spelled out on page 85 of Rules For Radicals.
Jack Smith is PURE EVIL and needs an EXORCISM by his Rabbi!!
In the words of the 6th Amendment to the US Constitution:
“...the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed...”
Nowhere does it assert that the STATE has any such right to a “speedy and public trial”.
Jack Smith is standing on uncertain and shifting ground. Maybe he should not be opening that can of worms?
So now Jack Smith is telling the USSC what to do. Good move...Not

Smith is now saying SCOTUS should not get involved in the case. Before he said only SCOTUS could decide the immunity issue.
Prediction: SCOTUS will agree to hear the case and put it on next year’s docket, i.e., after the election. They are not going to be stampeded by Smith.
You are spot on about the 6th Amendment. It is meant to protect the accused, not the prosecution. Trump deserves due process including an en banc review by the DC Appellate Court.
Another SCOTUS case involving a J6er who is contesting the novel application of the Enron charge of “obstruction of legal proceedingss” as a felony is before the court now with a decision expected this session. If SCOTUS rules that the government is wrong, then two of Smith’s four charges against Trump go away.
Stick a fork in Smith. He is done.
There is no such thing in DC where 98% voted for anyone but Trump.
My thoughts exactly. These folks have zero self awareness. Their hubris will be their downfall. Should be an interesting year.
Between NYC and DC....we can see the injustices and we know this without a doubt. These prosecutors and jurors are not peers...they’re Dem loyalists
