I do not know where this is going, but it sure has potential. The only reason you appoint a special outside counsel is because so few RICO cases are prosecuted at the state level that essentially no one on the DA’s staff has much experience in directing one. But Fani hires as outside counsel someone who has apparently never prosecuted a RICO case. Then she pays him generously - and he recycles the $ to her personal benefit. Allegedly.

There is one other RICO case pending in GA at the moment and in that case, alleging crimes by a state official, the DA was disqualified, and the process for finding another County DA to take over the case has dragged on for 18 months. It is a hot potato of a prosecution, and no DA wants to touch it. The Trump prosecution would have to be regarded as even hotter. It would be nice to see this ill-advised prosecution put to sleep, but it would be even nicer to investigate the communication between the Biden White House, the US Department of Justice, and the Fulton DA in the 12-18 months before the indictment. Because I bet that is rotten.

Not excusing it at all, but if you are familiar with the Fulton County DA's office is about par for the course. I left GA before Fani Willis's time began, but her predecessor Paul Howard was incompetent, and yet was retained in that position for about 20 years by the majority black electorate of Fulton County.
