Another reason not waste $61 billion on this failed proxy war.

The only one who failed was Putin

His invasion failed to conquer Ukraine, and now Russia is hopelessly bogged-down in a war it cannot win, sacrificing tens of thousands of its own troops for incremental land gains

Yup. 61 billion can buy a lot of dead people.

The Russian Armed Forces attacked Ukrainian reserves converging on Avdiivka for a counterattack.

Ouch!

The Uke Nazis definitely did Nazi that coming, and it's too late now!

He certainly living up to his billing. The word going around for the past few days was he was sending up his very best troops to that area to reinforce failure.

It will be interesting to watch and see what really happened. Not to say things weren’t exactly as written, of course, but I have noticed a pattern.

When Russia suffers a big loss of some kind, there will soon be stories of great victories that block out the bad news.

In this latest example, it might have been missed when their media reported:

”Unfortunately, the information was confirmed. Last night, sea drones attacked the large landing ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Tsezar Kunikov. As a result of the attack, the ship was holed and sank off the southern coast of Crimea.”

Ouch. Is that the end of the Black Sea Fleet? It was loaded with tanks and ammunition, too, making the loss even more significant.

“Another reason not waste $61 billion on this”

The ~$40 Billion in Military aid the US has sent so far, has Russian military casualties approaching 400,000, so another $60 Billion might take it close to a million. About $100,000 a pop, not counting the additional value of all the hardware and ammunition expended.

Out of 8,668,400 total Soviet combat losses in WWII where nationality could be established, only 5,756,000 were Russian (66%). Ukrainians made up 1,377,400 losses (16%), Belarusians 252,900 (3%), Tatars 187,700 (2%), Jews 142,500 (1.6%), Kazakhs 125,500 (1.4%), Uzbeks 117,900 (1.4%) and other nationalities made up less than one percent of the total losses apiece.

So about $600 Billion to inflict total military casualties on Russia greater than WWII - about 70% of this year’s US Defense budget, but that could be spread comfortably over 3-4 fiscal years (one Presidential term).

Russia’s mafia regime might well be willing to send that many Russian men and boys to the slaughter, but there is no way that that Russian hardware and ammo supplies would last anywhere near through that much fighting.

The West can easily afford a crushing historic defeat of the Russian Military.

Clearly, Russia deserves it, due to their illegal aggression and their atrocious criminal conduct of the war.
