Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), in an exclusive interview with Sirius XM Breitbart News Daily on Tuesday, slammed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for the recent border bill “debacle,” saying that the leader did not even put on the negotiating table a provision to tie Ukraine aid to border metrics and that his “top priority” was Ukraine aid, not securing the border.

If MY Senator Ron Johnson (R, WI) says it, you can take it to the BANK.

He’s the Real Deal, Guys. Well, as close as we’re ever going to get again with the UniParty. :(

I have disagreed with him on a few minor issues - but all in all he’s one of the FEW Good Guys in Congress today.

(Self-made Man, can’t be bought. He’s got plenty of F-You Cash!)

“Russian withdrawal would end this war immediately.”

_________________________________________

Russia can’t withdraw.

Let’s pretend for a moment the USA hadn’t been initiating this war for decades and Russia decided it wanted to surrender Ukraine to the west. Immediately, there would be escalation on other Russian border countries. We aren’t going to stop with Ukraine.

Who said anything about a secret cabal? You’re pretty simple-minded.

Ukraine voted for independence in 1991, just like a lot of former parts of the Soviet Union/the Russian Empire. Such an independence referendum has been the gold standard of national legitimacy since 1919.

This is not “surrender Ukraine to the West”. Ukraine (or a Ukrainian majority) wanted to join the EU, just as almost all of Eastern Europe has done, to their great benefit. Recall that the 2014 controversy began with EU membership. Russia didn’t want that for Ukraine, Putin wanted Ukraine in its own economic system.

What has been happening since is that Russia (really, the Putin regime) has been trying to bring Ukraine under Russian domination all over again. Russia has tried to do this with other states that broke off, arguably succeeding best with Belorussia. They have had an aggressive stance vs Ukraine for at least two decades.

You are implying a secret cabal.

Kinda obvious ole Mitch is on the take.

Yes it is, and it has been for a long time....watching him behind a podium trying to speak, it’s so obvious that he is long past his “sell by” date. Why the majority of Senate Republicans haven’t replaced him with a real conservative tells us all we need to know about the true leanings of the majority of the R senators. There are quite a few senators who would be much better leaders. His only saving grace was keeping Garland off the Supreme Court so I guess there is that !

I’m not to sit here and argue with you over the lies you tell.

You’re just another Zeeper.

1st paragraph, so what.

2nd paragraph, 2014 “controversy” was a coup that began in 2008.

3rd paragraph, BS, Russia offered peace for Ukraine’s neutrality.

Go back to sleep, Rip Van Winkle.

Through argument we find truth.

That is always so. It is, anong other things, the premise of all of Aristotelian philosophy, and the reason St, Thomas wrote the “Summa Theologica”, a basis in reason for the Christian religion, including arguments pro and con every point.

If the very basis of our civization can be established through reasoned argument, why cant we reason through this point?
