New York City public schools are going remote Tuesday due to a winter storm that is forecast to dump as much as 8 inches of snow on the Big Apple, Mayor Eric Adams said.
“We’re expecting winter weather overnight tonight which could lead to 5-8 inches of snow with locally higher amounts by the morning,” Hizzoner tweeted Monday.
We're expecting winter weather overnight tonight which could lead to 5-8 inches of snow with locally higher amounts by the morning. As a result, all @NYCSchools will move to remote learning tomorrow.

Remote is useless. Pretend school.
Everyone would rather just have a snow day.
It’s not just that.....That was their social life. Poor kids. Pretty stupid if you looked at the statistics. And really....for years...if these flus take hold, they just shut down the schools....they’ve done it for years and years.
Wonder if illegally have anything to do with this?
What ever did NYC schools do, when these storms hit, before MayOr Adams????
If you're certain that global warming causes blizzards... you might be a Democrat. LOL
All my life in Alabama I’ve heard northerners poke fun at us for shutting down when it snows.
Just in time for the special election to fill Santos’ seat...
Kansas City schools are closed on Wednesday for Taylor Swift day.
Gotta move those illegals into the schools to keep them safe.
Protect those future votes at all costs!
Another superstorm?
I’m a retired city school teacher with many friends who still are teaching. Yes, they hate “remote learning”. On average, only 1/3 of the kids even log in. And for those that do, there’s often all sorts of background noise. TV sets blaring, etc.
In one instance, a parent was in the background getting drunk as the kid was trying to learn.
This is in an urban school district. Things could well be different in the peaceful suburbs.
Went to a supermarket in suburban Boston an hour ago and there wasn’t a bottle of milk or a loaf of bread to be seen.I can remember walking 8 miles to school...up hill (both ways)...in 2 feet of snow.
Adams is a complete and utter failure, like virtually all blacks when they get into positions of power or authority.
I’ll bet the illegal aliens get to stay in the school while the taxpayers’s children sit at home and get even stupider.
Coffee will be hot, straight from the kitchen.
After Bloomberg, the schools would just be closed and there would be no remote. But after the pandemic, snow days became a thing of the past.
I did a quick look to see if you were joking. Sadly, you were not joking. Wow.
The decision would be made the morning of. The local TV and radio stations would then announce all the towns and school systems that decided to close, starting as early as 5am.
My parents were always perplexed (and a little annoyed) that us kids would get up at 5am all by ourselves just to find out if we had school or not. On a regular school day, it was a challenge to get us up and off to school on time!
Most school systems in the Northeast would build at least five "snow days" into the school calendar. If those days were not all used up, we would start our summer vacations earlier. But we always wanted to get the snow days we felt we had coming to us.
When a snow day was called, all the kids bundled up and went outdoors. We went sledding, built snow forts, had snowball fights. Then come inside for hot chocolate. It was always great having a snow day.
[[which could lead to 5-8 inches]]
Gosh- the horror! 8 whole inches of snow? We moved from one house to another during and through till the end of a 33 inch snowstorm! Took while to shovel out- but we did it
