White Tennessee Democrat Congressman Steve Cohen was incensed that Super Bowl fans did not stand in respect for what he called the “Negro National Anthem” during Sunday night’s big game.
As it has for the last several championship games, the NFL opened the Super Bowl with the song “Life Every Voice and Sing,” which many agitators have proclaimed to be “the black national anthem.”
Of course, it isn’t a “national anthem” at all, but regardless, Congressman Cohen was not happy that the video of fans in the stands showed that not many were standing as R&B singer Andra Day performed the popular song.
He quickly jumped to his X account to scold the fans.
“Very very few stood at Super Bowl for ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing’. The Negro National Anthem. Not a pretty picture of Super Bowl crowd,” he wrote.

But Steve, it was their right “not to stand”....Remeber?
Everyone should have taken a knee
Spot on...
When negro’s get off their knees and show respect for our country, then perhaps whitey will get off his ass.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA-—
“Up yours.....”
“Sorry about the up yours...... the other day...”
CLASSIC!
Obvious attempt to divide Americans.
Separating African Americans from America.
Typical dem / socialist / communist tactic, divide and conquer.
IMHO, the best way to deal with this is by ignoring the so-called anthem, and then loudly berate the folks pushing this for once again picking on the black community, for trying to separate them from the rest of America, and for figuratively kicking them out of the country by virtue of having an anti American alternative to their own anthem, the Star Spangled Banner. It belongs to all of us, not just white folks.
I started watching pregame broadcasting on CBS about an hour or so before kickoff. Granted, I was going to the kitchen and back. I recall Post Malone singing America The Beautiful and then Reba for the National Anthem. And then the game started.
When did I miss it? Not that I care.
And, yes, I would've remained seated as well. Blacks have made it clear that their national anthem is for them only. They'd have probably gotten butthurt if I stood up in reverence.
Can't win with these people.
Slip of the tongue. That ol’ finger-lickin’ southern Democrat meant to say the Darky spiritual
Shove it, Cohen. Shove it deep. Shove it often. And, get a real job. Being a DemocRAT congresscritter is even below that of being an MSNBC “talent” or being a publik skool ‘eddikator’.
I can still hear my late mom saying keep your cotton pickin hands out of the icebox
Negro?
You misspelled dividing.
I stood....then walked to the fridge to grab another beer
....when all of them, black or white, get a haircut, stand for the American National anthem like the Pittsburgh Steelers did in the one photo I saw, and quit playing racists songs, and fire Roger Goodell, I would love to watch a game........
Someone asked me what i would do when they sang the song if i was at the game. I told them i would pull my pants down and moon the singers.
—
I had the sound off during commercials, so that is why all those people were pulling their pants down...
Take a knee.
Where’s the “Black Nation” that they’re singing to?
Tough beans.
Those who take a knee for the REAL National Anthem aren’t standing for that.
What goes around comes around.
Live with it, hypocrite.
Wow, black people don't even call it that, Steve.
