Former President Donald Trump tipped the scales in the U.S. Senate race in Montana on Friday, endorsing retired U.S. Navy SEAL and businessman Tim Sheehy on the same day that Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) announced that he was getting in the race.
“I LOVE MONTANA! Tim Sheehy is an American Hero and highly successful Businessman from the Great State of Montana,” Trump posted on social media. “He is strongly supported by our incredible Chairman of the NRSC, Steve Daines, and many other patriotic Senators and Republicans who have endorsed our Campaign to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! I also respect Matt Rosendale, and was very happy to Endorse him in the past – and will Endorse him again in the future should he decide to change course and run for his Congressional Seat.”

He should have endorsed Rosendale who is MAGA and very pro-Trump. Sheehy is a Mitch McConnell pick. I think Trump didn’t know either one abd was “advised” by staff to endorse Sheey. O think he will regret this one.
Wish he had endorsed Matt Rosendale. I wonder if he knew either of them.
Why wouldn’t he endorse a MAGA republican?
I love PDJT but some of his picks🤷♂️🤦♂️
...another BAD selection from the House of Trump...Rosendale has (had?) a thirty-point lead over Sheehy.
No - it's another backstab by a RepukeLicking Assistant Democrat (Rosendale), making sure that Jonny Testicles retains his Senate seat for Team Schumer.
[Montana] Creating a 'Divisive Primary': NRSC Chair Blasts Rosendale's Senate Run
Commentary from earlier today highlighting some nice hypocrisy on the part of the NRSC, with Mitch McConnell's little toady (Steve Daines) boo-hooing because an actual conservative dares to interrupt their Senate RINO-thon. But it's OK when THEY create a "divisive primary" in order to try to thwart a conservative (Alex Mooney in West Virginia).
Daines and the rest of the RINOs and their supporters can kiss my ass.
Trump wants to win, he doesn’t want to deal with Majority leader Schumer. Rosendale already lost to tester in favorable conditions. It’s a chance to join with some in the Senate who were backing him which helps to bring the psrty closer. Rosendale, i think, is a close friend to MAGA. He would probably be better but for the reasons above I can understand the decision.
I trust CM to endorse the bad guy much more than I trust Trump to pick the good guy.
Trump picked the wrong guy again. Support Trump all the way but so many of his picks suck.
Herschel Walker should have moved to Montana.
“Rosendale already lost to tester in favorable conditions. “
Favorable conditions? In 2018?!!? Would you care to provide even one shred of evidence for that alleged favorability?
Some people have very short memories, or they simply have no clue about the facts at the time. Those facts are at the link in post #7.
Trump is good at policy and bad at personnel.
Rosendale’s loss in 2018 — in a state that Trump won twice by wide margins — probably doomed this campaign from the start. That was just not acceptable at a time when every Senate seat makes a huge difference either way.
I hadn’t noticed. /s
I dont know why. I suspect he didn’t know Rosendale was MAGA and staffers gave him bad advice about Sheehy.
Rosendale did not endorse Trump until after he had an insurmountable lead. Might be a loyalty thing.

Rosendale has a great conservative voting record in the House. He is one of 40-50 members of the House Freedom Caucus, which is made up of conservative ideologues.
I like them, but unfortunately they’ve never accomplished anything since I’ve been following them.
Love how it’s always the staffers fault, and never Trumps fault.
I suppose Trump is being pragmatic. Rosendale could serve in the Cabinet, like ex-Seal Ryan Zinke.
