It’s Time to Strike Back at Iran
WSJ ^ | Feb. 8, 2024 4:48 pm ET | By Mike Pence and Mike Pompeo

Posted on 02/10/2024 7:14:08 AM PST by conservative98

Escalating Iranian aggression cost the lives of three U.S. soldiers in Jordan. These intolerable acts of violence by the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism can no longer go unpunished. The U.S. must respond with an immediate and unequivocal show of force that will begin to restore the deterrence that has decayed not only in the Middle East but around the world.

[cut]

Our first step should be to respond to Iran’s deadly attacks with devastating strikes: not only to end Tehran’s escalation and keep American soldiers safe, but to begin re-establishing the model of deterrence that keeps war at bay. The U.S. military must destroy high-value Iranian targets, including Tehran’s nuclear program, navy and oil infrastructure. Telegraphed strikes on empty warehouses achieve nothing. Appeasement has never worked a single time in history, and it won’t work now.

The safety and security of the nation and its citizens must always remain paramount. Those who volunteer to defend our freedoms shouldn’t be left to fend for themselves. Those who make the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country deserve justice. And those who dare to threaten America’s interests deserve a reminder that they’ll regret it.

And the two duplicitous A-holes who wrote this piece know damn well that none of the U.S. military personnel over there are doing anything related to the safety and security of this country.

Way past time! The time to strike back against Iran was 12 hours after the incident.

If you haven't seen Tucker Carlson's interview with Vladimir Putin, I highly recommend it.

It is crystal clear that there are unelected people in our government and its agencies that have an unhealthy influence on our foreign policy.

12 hours after the incident, I suspect the U.S. military was still dealing with a lack of information about what had happened.

For that matter, I think it’s a safe bet that what has been reported in the media is NOT the real story.

I can’t imagine Reagan allowing Iran to attack our troops 160 times before we finally decided to do something more than blow up huts & insignificant buildings in the middle of nowhere.

Devastating air strikes on Iran will not deter war.

It will ensure it.

Reagan couldn’t get the U.S. military out of Lebanon fast enough after the bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983.

I’m sure he came out of that more than a little humbled — because he had been warned by some of his senior advisors (including his Secretary of Defense, I believe) not to send them there in the first place.
