Trump Plans to Make Ron DeSantis a ‘Political Eunuch’
Rolling Stone ^ | FEBRUARY 8, 2024 10:00AM EST | ASAWIN SUEBSAENG AND ADAM RAWNSLEY

Posted on 02/10/2024 5:58:02 AM PST by Behind Liberal Lines

After a year of getting roundly humiliated by Donald Trump and failing to unseat him as the leader of the Republican Party, Ron DeSantis finally dropped out of the race and endorsed Trump’s bid to reclaim the White House. But while the former president publicly retired his “DeSanctimonious” nickname, Trump has privately made clear over the past two weeks that he’s not ready to let go of his grudge against the Florida governor and former ally.

One of the sources, who has spoken to the ex-president about this topic recently, bluntly characterizes Trump’s attitude on DeSantis’ future as wanting to turn “Ron into a political eunuch” who never gets to be president, much less lead his party. In months past, as Rolling Stone previously reported, Trump privately insisted that if DeSantis truly wishes to earn his forgiveness, the Florida governor would have to “kiss my ass, a lot.”

For now, it appears that the adequate ass kissing has yet to begin.

Should Trump forgive him? That’s up to Trump. But he’s right to not trust him. Trump’s seen DeSantis’s true character, as have the rest of us. That doesn’t change just because he decides to endorse you. DeSantis doesn’t have enough integrity to be Trump’s successor as president. If he can prove himself useful in some lesser role, like Cruz has, then that’s a separate issue.

We have enough RNC trolls and NeverTrumpers around here to do that for them.

Is this true or more dis-information?

The problem for Trump is that either way it is totally plausible because of his history in doing/saying things exactly like this.

~~~~~~~~~~
Hey Donald...
Don’t look now but your real enemy is on your left.
Please stop the juvenile name calling and vendettas against republicans and concentrate on beating the democrats.
(no matter how much voters may like Trump’s policies this kind of dumb s**t is why many have a hard time supporting him)
Desantis STOPPED Trump from Sneaking a Bill thru the FL House
that
had
FL Residents PAY 5 million of his Legal Bills .
I wasn’t aware Trump could introduce bills to the Florida House. When did the Florida House make Trump an honorary member?
Trump needed to earn it a 2nd time.
He did. Now he has earned for a 3rd time.
Rolling Stone stirring the pot. The new play being executed by the Dems is that the R party is in shambles and about to explode. I expect that theme to carry all the way to the election.
Fake news. Trump may go on needling DeSantis longer than he ought to, but I doubt he’s pursuing some consistent strategy when it comes to DeSantis. He’s going to have enough troubles to give much thought to Ron DeSantis.
Bud Light is dead, just like DeSantis national aspirations. Trump on the other hand is alive and well and is the leader of a movement you probably don’t understand.
>>”Trump never forgives .”
Nonsense. That probably applies more to you than it ever did for Trump. We have example after of example of Trump welcoming the support of a former rival or individuals who have been critical of him in the past. Vivek is the most recent example. Vivek played dirty and tried to gain support from Trump voters with the pitch “If you care about Trump, you need to vote for me”. Trump called him out. Vivek dropped out a few days later and Trump dropped his criticisms and welcomed him on stage at some of his rallies.
Tucker Carlson is another example. Last year, text messages came out of Tucker saying “I hate him [Trump] passionately”. Trump has not held a grudge and apparently accepted Tucker’s apology enough to give him an interview a few months later.
DeSantis is this election cycle's Ted Cruz.
He sold out the Republican establishment and stabbed Trump and the MAGA movement in the back.
He's finished.
more fiction manufactured by Rolling Stone, which is pretty much their continuously demonstrated modus operandi ...
Trump has much bigger fish to fry than piling on a brief and harmless opponent who has already thoroughly self-eunuchized himself ...
and why on earth would you believe ANYTHING rolling stone says, given their history of repeatedly making up complete bullshit and getting caught at it over and over again?
How do they know what Trump is planning? This is more than likely a lie because DeSantis has done an excellent job in Florida. There would be no reason to further harm DeSantis.
“Trump never forgives “
like when Trump appointed former primary opponent Ben Carson to be his Secretary of Housing and Urban Development?
"Ron did that to himself."
Rolling Stone; obviously a Democrat psychological attack article to cause dissention among Republican and to attack Trump as vindicative and self absorbed. I'm surprised any Freeper didn't recognize it for what it was.
Assuming that this story is true it says something bad about Trump, and nothing at all bad about Governor DeSantis.
During his term as President, Trump never honored the great Thomas Sowell due to a personal grudge. So I am guessing that this story may actually be true.
Abraham Lincoln was crudely insulted by Edwin Stanton, and responded by making him Secretary of War; and earned his admiration and loyalty. Alas, Trump, a very able man in many respects, is however no Lincoln.
