I believe him a 100%.
When they tried to force action after a shooting (the typical political ambulance chasing), he did the bump stock thing which was to take the political pressure off and show action, but not really do anything. He was willing to take the heat as they tried to force him to go further on the issue, but he refused.
His actions speak loudly on this issue and he’s not like many others that pretend to support you but then throw you under the bus once in office. Trump supports our 2nd amendment rights.
I listened to the speech. Very good.
Unfortunately, President Trump is weak on the 2nd Amendment. His actions in his first term speak for themselves.
He used administrative power - deep state power - to push for and enact a bump stock ban.
And he also spoke about using red flag laws to deprive people of timely due process rights. Thankfully for the latter, someone in his administration told him his base support would crater if he continued to support such efforts.
President Trump needs to be watched carefully regarding the 2nd Amendment.
There was a marvelous video in the last year or two about some ATF creep coming to the door of a private citizen, insisting upon being let inside. The ATF creep was dressed in street clothes, and his lanyard had his ID. The private citizen called 911. When the local police arrived, the ATF creep WOULD NOT follow police instructions. The local police quickly ‘took him to the ground’ at which point he began complaining about his back condition.
It was glorious.
