he GOP-led House voted 216-209 on Tuesday in favor of advancing a resolution to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
The final vote on the resolution is expected to take place Tuesday evening after almost three hours of debate on the House floor.
Mayorkas faces two charges over his handling of the southern border, including a "breach of trust" and a "willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law."

The only problem is his replacement will be just as bad.
He’s not going to convicted in the senate. He’ll continue as nothing happened.

Yep. 214 to 216. Four Pubs voted Nay and one didn’t vote.

That’s too bad but hardly surprising. Has the house accomplished even one thing the last 13 months? If they lose the house in January 2025, it will be their own fault.
(2) Does the House not control the purse strings? They can easily withhold the department's budget and Mayorkas' salary.

Not surprising at all.
I’m even angrier now. The next vote was to suspend the rules and pass a stand-alone bill for appropriations for Israel. 2/3 majority required and it was 250 to 180. Failed. On this one 14 Pubs voted Nay and again, 1 didn’t vote.
I had to turn it off. My blood pressure demands it. I’m disgusted with the whole lot up there.
And yes, if the Pubs lose the House, they have only themselves to blame.
That it’s the ‘usual suspects’ is pretty much a given.

What I would like to see happen, I can't post. But it would sure be refreshing if it happened.
My congresscritter started out fairly well and did listen but now he's in it for the money. No longer a representative. He's a full-blown DC politician.
Putin could still do it, and we haven't quit pokin' that bear.
