Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) said his hot-mic remark last month predicting GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley would get “smoked” in the race against former President Trump was a “complete mistake,” but he did not apologize for making the comment.
In a preview of a “Good Morning America” interview set to air on Tuesday, Christie recounted the hot-mic moment that took place just minutes before he suspended his presidential campaign, when Christie was heard saying about Haley, “She’s gonna get smoked. And you and I both know it, she’s not up to this.”

Toasted and roasted?
Christie, it’s the only thing you’ve gotten right . . .
The one time he tells the truth—and then he has to lie about it.
Omg.
Exactly, I was so glad Christie the Hutt dropped out.
Once upon a time, a few years ago, Haley was a favorite on FR, thought to be a legitimate contender for the presidency to extend the MAGA Movement. I said, “NO!” because generally women were not meant to be in positions of power, tend to be equivocal, and generally cannot be trusted in those positions.
He never explained why he is now saying that remark was ‘a complete mistake.’. Was it just b/c he thought the mike was turned off and it was a hot mike? So what? That’s no big deal. I had forgotten his two week old remark anyway, until Chris himself dug it back up for airtime.
I suspect Chris Christie wants to Piggyback ride onto Nikki’s campaign, perhaps as ‘an advisor’.
“I’ll be your very own Karl Rove!”
And then he offered to endorse her which she turned down.
You’re a big, fat mistake Chris.
