The doors have been open since Oct 7 2001,
the day of the start of the war in Afghanistan.
We are indebted to you for your sacrifices for our Freedom.
Good evening, Pro...the last 2 days have brought another 10+ inches of snow. And now we enter several days of not getting above zero...at least -15 overnight.
Hope you are toasty warm and enjoying your week.
Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...you and Tippy able to get out without rain?
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!
Yes...now it’s just COLD. LOL!
I really don’t enjoy winter, but I shouldn’t be complaining to a person who lives in Alaska. LOL.
Howdy, Kathy.
Do you have two space heaters by your desk? Mighty darn cold up there today!!
Thank those serving.
Honor those who served.
NEVER forget the fallen!
We're in a warm, wet weather pattern here now, it's great 'cuz you don't have to shovel rain, LOL.
Not much happening with me, had lunch with Son today, got a few Dr. appts coming up but nothing serious.
How have you and the kittehs been doing?
Howdy, luvie.
Kinda hard to argue with that, no doubt.
I hope your day’s been good.
Bible in a Year :
[Jesus] made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant.
After a game, a college basketball star stayed behind to help workers throw out empty cups and food wrappers. When a fan posted a video of him in action, more than eighty thousand people viewed it. One person commented, “[The young man] is one of the most humble guys you will ever meet in your life.” It would’ve been easier for the basketball player to leave with his teammates and celebrate his role in the team’s victory. Instead, he volunteered for a thankless job.
The ultimate spirit of humility is seen in Jesus, who left His high position in heaven to take the role of a servant on earth (Philippians 2:7). He didn’t have to do it, but He willingly humbled Himself. His ministry on earth included teaching, healing, and loving all people—and dying and rising to save them.
Although Christ’s example can inspire us to sweep a floor, pick up a hammer, or dish up food, it may be most powerful when it finds its way into our attitude toward others. True humility is an inner quality that not only changes our actions but also changes what’s important to us. It motivates us to “value others above [ourselves]” (v. 3).
Author and preacher Andrew Murray said, “Humility is the bloom and the beauty of holiness.” May our lives reflect this beauty as, through the power of His Spirit, we reflect the heart of Christ (vv. 2–5). .
Reflect & Pray
How has Jesus’ humility affected you? In what areas are you tempted to be prideful?
Dear Jesus, thank You for humbling Yourself for me. Help me to follow Your example of valuing others’ needs above my own.
Hey there, radu!
It HAS been good, except for the part where there was rain coming and it totally missed us! That was NOT good.
How are things there? Is it finally warming up so you can open the windows?
Howdy, PRO!
The water issues seem to be taken care of and I pray no more crop up. That was NOT fun.
I noticed it’s been a bit wet across WA lately. Great that you have some warmth with it so you don’t have snow. I imagine Kathy would love to be able to see NO snowflakes for the rest of the winter. She’s buried.
Sounds like your day was good, getting together with your son.
Da kittehs are doing well enough. Isis is “iffy” and goes to the vet next Monday. I’m not sure how that’s going to turn out but am braced for bad news. Hoping for good news.
I’ve been cussing Comcast all day and spent two hours on the phone with them. Things seem to be ok now but we’ll see how long that lasts. Other than that aggravation, things are fine. Chilly today but the rest of the week will be pretty nice.
A friend bought me a one-size-fits-all heavy duty, sherpa fleece lined hoodie. It has room in it for a second person, and for short folks it reaches below the knees. I used it last winter, but forgot about til several days ago. I have only turned on the space heater a couple times since, and for cold feet after shoveling.
Keeping my arthritic knees warm seems to be the key to the space heater need so much. The thermometer by my desk varies between 63 and 67.
Aw MAN!! Missed by rain AGAIN? That stinks.
It was nippy here but we warm back up tomorrow through the rest of the week. Not exactly open-the-windows warm but decent enough. 45 this afternoon and that’s about normal for this time of year. 50s and a couple of low 60s the rest of the week.
Brrrr! I don't know how you DO that kind of snowfall and those temperatures! You are one tough gal! |
