NBC’s Saturday Night Live ended up with egg on its face when “Weekend Update” co-anchor Colin Jost attempted to make fun of former President Donald Trump for using the word “de-bank” — a well-known financial term used to describe the denial of financial services to political dissidents, frequently at the behest of the government.
During Saturday’s broadcast, Colin Jost admitted to not knowing “what the hell” the term meant, while erroneously claiming Trump made the word up.

to be fair it was ALWAYS leftist garbage. It’s just that they used to produce some gems that weren’t.

This is why very few “comedians” are funny anymore.
I was watching that this morning. I thought it was odd that they thought it was some kind of stuttering mistake. I did not see the Trump context, but I certainly understand what “de-banking” is.

A new low in actor IQ - doesn’t even think to google it before making a fool of himself. I doubt the majority of his audience would do it either, though.

Knowledge isn’t one of Hollywood’s strong points pretending is.
Saw it on the very rare occasion that I watch it because it is not funny. They were mocking the rights belief that such a thing as de banking exists. They truly are the dumbest creatures on planet earth and told the whole world that last night. It was embarrassing, or it would be if they had any shame.
If I was going to go on TV and make a whole bit about a certain word, I think I’d take a minute and do a search online of the word. But maybe I’m scrupulous.
