I’m sure it feels great to defend her, especially because of the relevancy here, but there plenty of people out there that say she plain outright screwed up. She was a DIPLOMAT, one who is charged with knowing her contemporaries, presenting clear, concise language to their foreign counterparts. She should have stayed in British Columbia from where she came.

I'm certainly not defending April Glaspie because she made the same basic mistake that Americans have often made, another notorious example being Pres. Truman's Secretary of State, Dean Acheson, in January 1950 -- when he made a speech listing Asian countries the US would defend while leaving out Korea.
The NoKo's, ChiComs and Old Uncle Joe Stalin all took Acheson's speech as a "green light" to invade South Korea, which they did in June 1950.

And there are other similar examples, none of which compare to the alleged "coup" in Ukraine in 2014.
