My colleague Mike Miller previously reported about scuttlebutt afoot regarding replacing Joe Biden with Michelle Obama as the Democrats' 2024 presidential nominee. I wrote earlier about a report that the Obamas were worried about Biden's chances, that Obama had been yelling at him to step things up or get out, and reports they were working behind the scenes to encourage him to get out of the race.

But now there's more from Megyn Kelly, talking about a report from NY Post columnist Cindy Adams about the "plan" in the works. Now, again, take all reports with a grain of salt and question anything from "sources" but Adams says she's being told the timeline. Kelly said there's been a reach out to donors that both she and Adams have heard about.
Here's what Adams says:
Reportedly, and I’m being told, “Obama has polled donors.”
His plan? Around May, Biden announces he’s not running (even mentally). The so-called plot is that come the August convention, Michelle gets nominated.

Mrs. Obama’s team has already sent a survey to heavy-duty donors asking how they’d feel about her as the candidate.
The process has begun.
Kelly also mentioned Michelle Obama's comments about being terrified for 2024, because leaders were so important and the government does "everything" for us.
What’s going to happen in this next election? I am terrified about what could possibly happen. Because our leaders matter, who we select, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit, it affects us in ways that sometimes I think people take for granted. You know, the fact that people think that government, ‘Ahhh, you know, does it really even do anything?’ And I’m like, ‘Oh my God. Does government do everything for us, and we cannot take this democracy for granted.’ And sometimes I worry that we do.”
Now, I don't doubt Barack Obama likes power, but I'm not sure Michelle wants the job. Plus, while they may think that she could just step in and be nominated at the convention, it might not be as simple as they think. Others with experience beyond just being in the White House might rise and want to be heard in such a scenario. So this seems a rather complicated thing to try to pull off at the last hour, although she is very popular within the party. And Biden hasn't seemed to want to step aside so far — the plan requires him to comply. Jill Biden likes the spotlight. So that's another thing — they would have to somehow convince him to get out. It seems someone wants us to think this is a possibility. Are they floating a test bubble to see how it works or does Barack Obama think they could pull this off?
But the fact that this is even being floated at all is just one more confirmation of how weak Joe Biden is. That could explain why the reports about what Barack Obama and his aides are thinking re: Joe Biden have been percolating a lot over the past month, perhaps laying the groundwork, and why Michelle is suddenly making comments at all.
Republicans should be prepared for anything, as we see Democrats will try anything to retain control.

She’s dumber than a post...dumber even than Biden - and that takes a LOT of dumb.
This makes sense for the Demonicrats. I’ve heard Kamala’s polls are way low. Plus, maybe they’ll blackmail her, if she doesn’t step down after request from Obamanation.

They are the same people that would run Michelle Obama.
I’m not sure it’s Newsome. But I suspect Biden goes thru the primaries and accumulates delegates. Then announces he is not running and releases the delegates. Between his delegates and the super delegates, the Obamas can select whoever they want.
They may even make Biden endorse their choice. If the next administration wanted, the whole Biden family could go to jail for many decades — Garland will do whatever they tell him to. So there is plenty of bargaining power if Joe doesn’t want to resign. (Creating that bargaining power is why I suspect that R’s are being allowed to start seeing small pieces of the evidence against the Bidens — they are doing Obama’s dirty work).
Harris will be a footnote after all the drama of 2024 and D voters pretty much do what they are told.
I think the Deep State is going to put sloppy Joe in to a deep sleep.
It will be at the very last moment. That's why President Trump needs to campaign not against Bidet, but against the 'rats in general.
Or both, tie Dems in general to Biden's (Democrats) pathetic record, which is failure on a Silver platter.
If the ‘rats have Bidet assassinated by a white supremacist, whoever replaces him is in like Flint.

LOL. I tend to be skeptical of conspiracy theories. You and I may be on opposite sides of some dustup next week, but for now, we agree.
And the solid info you gave in #42 is compelling. I’ve been surprised at the widespread assumption here that the Dems will find a different candidate. Clearly, it will be Biden versus Trump. The only thing that would change that would be if one of them dies — not impossible, because neither is exactly youthful, but we are not going to see Nikki versus Michelle or the like.
I don’t mind debating about the weight of evidence on one side or the other.
Hopefully everybody learns from that.
I can be convinced Biden is going away—but I cannot find any real evidence that is so.
It’s gonna be a difficult task. For Big Mike’s gambit to work he’d have to be officially nominated and then drop out suddenly leaving the DNC to name a successor candidate. I don’t think they’re gonna get him to cooperate that easily; his handlers have a difficult enough time keeping him away from little children as it is.
