THE DAILY SHOW is bringing back beloved former host Jon Stewart on a part-time basis to shepherd the late-night show through the 2024 election season.
Following Trevor Noah’s exit in December 2022, the series spent 2023 relying on a revolving door of special guests and correspondents to hold down the fort while Comedy Central settled on a permanent host. However — despite Roy Wood Jr.’s very public pleadings at the Emmys — The Daily Show has opted not to bring in a full-time host, and instead will have Stewart return for Monday night broadcasts.

I never found him to be so. Snark and sarcasm does not make one a comedian.
Yep, time to turn late night “comedy” into political activism again.
Maybe he’ll be able to smirk and sneer at Trump and MAGA voters better than the other couple dozen late night and comedy program hosts. John Oliver will give him a run for his money though.
So the plan for a “comedy” channel (which hasn’t been funny in 20 years) is to bash Trump for the new voter kids. There’s no “cool” candidate like Obama or Clinton so good luck. Bashing Biden and Harris would be comedy gold but comedy is dead.
Lord, what a complete utter LOSER!! He knows it. He is NOT:

relevant,
intelligent,

and finally...original.

The college kids that watched him before are now in the real world, experiencing real life problems and taxes so the “old” crowd might not be as worshiping of him as they once were, and the new crowd haven’t stuck around through the last idiots time there to draw from.
Stewart might give them a boost, but nothing like he use to after the first few episodes is what I see happening.
It’s time to bring back the test pattern after the 11 o’clock news.

LoL, indeed. I remember just before the test pattern they played a short video something called meditations, followed by a video showing a fighter pilot flying above the clouds accompanied by a spoken poem called “High Flight”. I miss that.
The Daily Show format just doesn’t work when there is a Democrat president and they refuse to make fun of him. Doesn’t matter what they do, nobody is going to watch it, because it won’t be funny.
