Ukraine is running out of the ammunition needed for its US-supplied Howitzer guns as additional American aid for its military is held up by Congress — all while Russia is quickly bolstering its firepower, Kyiv soldiers warned.
A Ukrainian artillery crew operating an M109 Paladin Howitzer said they have been forced to start rationing their shells to try to beat back Russia’s forces near Bakhmut because of the dwindling supply.

Somebody is getting rich and it isn’t We The People of the United States.
So am I.
Let Europe give their money and weapons.
They still have drones, and have been building miles and miles of defensive trenches ... it’s WW1 on steroids
The Russians appear to be taking the offensive all along the front. Deliberate applied pressure all along the line will find the breakable weak link. The Ukes wasted all of their their manpower and ammunition reserves on the counteroffensive catastrophe.
Somebody bought houses, boats, and bank accounts elsewhere with it.
Ukraine should be able to make its own artillery shells.
Germany in WWI used artillery heavily.
American troops are also dangerously low on ammunition for their own use……
WWG1WGA!
Dear Ukrainians resident in the USA:
Please pay 10% of your 2023 income to Ukrainian Embassy, DC, right away.
Your Less Demented President
I doubt it. I think Valerii Zaluzhnyi knew the counteroffensive will fail but he had to appease Zelensky and the Americans.
So the Ukes launched probing attacks and went in with the Western tanks.
You didn't see a big attack like the D-Day Invasion. Zaluzhnyi knew it was impossible. So his goal is to preserve his army in one piece and survive to fight tomorrow. Much like George Washington.
This is not about budget fights - it's about the fact that we have sent a reported 40% of our reserves of Howitzer shells to the Ukraine and even our most Ukrainian supporting Generals are saying we can't send any more because we need them for our own American defense needs.
It's going to take us at least 5 years to replace the inventory we have sent to Ukraine.
The Ukraine has blown through the Howitzer shells we have sent to them in a wasteful, indiscriminate and irresponsible fashion.
To send anymore would be an even greater waste.
To put things in perspective our defense policy has been to have the war reserves to fight a two front major WWIII conflict and still have enough reserves to fight a simultaneous regional conflict.
To put things in perspective , to have blown through the 40% of our Howitzer war reserves means that have essentially expended the amount of munitions planned to fight a full scale NATO WWIII in the European theater.
We are running three shifts at the one plant in Pennsylvania that makes 155mm rounds. The Ukies are using them faster than we can make them.
“ forced to start rationing their shells to try to beat back Russia’s forces”
Meanwhile our forces have been overrun and invaders have continued to flood in at the border
Dear “Z”....go knock on someone else’s door.
You can expect Zaluzhnyi to be sacked by Z any day. Rumor has it that Z’s loyal intelligence chief, Budanov will replace him. I think this is gearing up for more insurgent or terror type attacks on civilians. The Chechen model from Beslan School era. It’s nearly all Z is capable of now.
It would be more profitable for Zelensky if Zaluzhnyi burned through whatever they have left right now. Zelensky needs more headlines to keep the money train rolling; Zaluzhnyi is going to have to play ball or pack his bags.
The Russian population in St. Petersburg and Moscow are still supporting the war in Ukraine so far. You could call George Washington a terrorist during the American Revolution. Budanov will probably be more bold. More attacks by the Ukrainian partisans in nearby Belgorod?
