In 14 years on FR I have seen people pick fights and insult make excuses for primary season etc., but not like this. I have never seen hatred like this. Never seen a group of spineless cowards so determined to destroy one man. I strongly suspect they are getting paid. Why else? They certainly don’t possess the character to fix issues in the GOP. Its far easier to sit behind a keyboard nameless, faceless and do their best to destroy a scapegoat than put effort into making this country GREAT AGAIN!!

Some other parts of the state have gotten wealthier and therefore more liberal.

If you support “open primaries”, you support the idea that two and only two political parties are legitimate, and that anyone outside of the Overton window from Left-Democrat to Right-Republican sho;uld be ignored - or worse.
The problem with this is that 60% of Americans are off the reservation. The system exists to prevent the majority from taking control.

The GOP has been equally guilty about OPEN PRIMARY. It has taken voters many decades to realize that OPEN PRIMARY is not a good idea.
