That they are making more low tech weapons I am sure. The troops not killed or maimed in Ukraine; is the argument that those Russian troops are now “battle-hardened” and ready to rock n roll invading Western Europe after Ukraine? And when will “after Ukraine” really arrive? Will the Russians attempt an occupation?

That doesn’t mean Putin isn’t crazy or desperate or just getting worse at both.

In the 1930’s Hitler was actually telegraphing what they wanted, particularly in terms of reuiniting with Austria and their grievances with Czechoslovakia and Poland (and needing living space, etc). No one (who mattered) was listening.

It’s better to be prepared and not have it happen then not be prepared and hope it doesn’t happen.

Could you imagine the logistics in resupplying forward units in Western Europe from bases in Russia?

Russia’s talking heads on state TV have repeated said that Poland and the Baltics must be punished for supporting Ukraine. But the “Peace in our Time” Putinistas believe that Putin will honor any cease fire and peace agreement despite what Hitler did with Neville Chamberlain.

The first Chechen war ended with a peace agreement and several years later Russia attacked again. This time with overwhelming force and completely ravaged the country. Now Chechnyans who were toddlers when Russia won have been fully indoctrinated and fight along side the Russian invaders in Ukraine.

That fate awaits Ukraine if Russia wins this war.

Russia has liberated all the land it wanted going into the war. Ukraine has be de-Nazified, another goal.

The only goal remaining is de-militarizing Ukraine and eliminating it was a threat to Russian Federation territory. And, that's what is happening. They are grinding the Ukrainian military into dust.
