The nation’s ruling class holds deeply authoritarian opinions widely divorced from the rest of the American electorate, finds a survey out this week. It found nearly 60 percent of American “elites” think there is too much individual freedom in America. Meanwhile, nearly 60 percent of registered voters have the exact opposite opinion, reporting the United States has too much top-down control, limiting liberty.
The study, titled “Them Vs. U.S,” defined the American “elite” as “having a postgraduate degree, a household income of more than $150,000 annually, and living in a zip code with more than 10,000 people per square mile.” Such people account for about 1 percent of Americans. The study also examined a sub-sample of the 1 percent who graduated from Ivy League schools or other name-brand institutions such as Northwestern, Duke, Stanford, and the University of Chicago.
The study from the Committee to Unleash Prosperity found ruling class opinions on climate policies were particularly harsh and despotic. More than two-thirds of the 1 percent support rationing vital energy and food sources in an attempt to control the globe’s weather. That number jumped to nearly 90 percent among the Ivy Leaguers. Around two-thirds of normal registered voters, however, oppose rationing vital resources.
Limiting food and water consumption is a serious proposition to global leaders. For example, the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, an environmentalist organization of city leaders across the globe, has proposed annihilating meat and dairy consumption by 2030.

They are free to give up theirs any time they like.

It really grates these people that they don’t have

BTW, these are NOT four God-given freedoms - they are half truths.
The first two, freedom of worship and freedom of speech, are God-given freedoms.
But the last two are phony man-given, government-given freedoms and they are B.S.
The connation is that man has the right to EXPECT GOVERNMENT to provide their freedom from want and fear. Very subtle, wanting you to DEPEND on government.
Note that the first wo are freedom FROM government interference while the last two are DEPENDENCIES ON government.

The freedom to walkaway, not subscribe / purchase / support is mightily irritating to the authoritarians of the Left. They would have less freedom for us, in order for them to have more freedom to “dictate” to us. This is demonstration of the great value of the 1st and 2nd amendments, and more.

We all have a great freedom to choose to eliminate their “entertainment” sources from our lives and shift some of their financial power back to us.
We've done that big time. And we save a bundle each month compared to some in our "extended" circle, simply because we don't "buy" what those "entertainers" are selling.
I recall the TV tax in Germany and the one in the UK, before we came home to retire. Pay for something you don't want BY LAW. Yech.

To be a true elite, you have to have enough wealth to not have to work for another man AND also be able to afford luxury things — at a MINIMUM.

The Constitution creates and then gives one thing.
The Constitution creates the government of the United States of America and then it DELEGATES FROM THE STATES AND THE PEOPLE certain LIMITED and ENUMERATED rights and powers to the federal government, mostly in Art. I. Sec. 8, as explained in the 9A and 10A which few seem to read.
