BREAKING: DeSantis Suspends 2024 Campaign, Endorses Donald Trump in Video Message

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has suspended his 2024 presidential campaign and endorsed former President Donald Trump.

DeSantis announced in a video posted to social media ahead of Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary.

The governor quoted Winston Churchill, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that count.”

Bloomberg had reported just minutes before that he would drop out and endorse Trump in the coming days.

The report cited “people briefed on the campaign’s conversations.”

“Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his top aides are having internal discussions about when and how he should drop out of the 2024 presidential race, according to people briefed on the campaign’s conversations.”

The report continued, “New polling from CNN and the University of New Hampshire shows DeSantis earning just 6% of the state’s Republican vote, whereas Trump has 50% and Haley has 39%.”

Many on social media noticed that DeSantis had cleared his campaign calendar over the weekend.

DeSantis came in second in Iowa, after Trump, and before Haley — but the former South Carolina governor is expected to perform better in New Hampshire, which is more liberal.

A poll conducted ahead of the Iowa caucuses by NBC News, the Des Moines Register, and Iowa pollster Selzer & Co. found that Haley supporters in Iowa are twice as likely to vote for Joe Biden as they are Donald Trump, should she not win the Republican nomination.

The pollsters asked likely Iowa caucus-goers, “If Donald Trump is the Republican nominee in the general election in November, would you vote for him, vote for Joe Biden, vote for independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., or vote for some other third-party candidate?”

more.

I just read the announcement on freep. Don’t care about the details. Don’t care if he endorsed Trump or not.

Neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris will be on the ballot in November.

“ None of the incredible nastiness between the Trump and DeSantis camps that emerged on FR this cycle is acceptable to me.”

The site has never been this bad. And I led the cheers for Rudy G here in 2007, and I thought it was bad then.

+1

"Good for DeSantis. I’ve always been a Trump guy- 100%- but the DeSantis hate on this site made me sick. Good to see he did the right thing."

I wonder if the the Freeper who viciously attack DeSantis hate him because he is demonstratedly a true conservative and they want to cause division among conservatives. I have been pro Trump from the beginning, but I think he really didn't and doesn't understand what was done to him and us with his "warp-speed" so-called vaccine that I think, with reason, killed my brother. No one except Jesus is above criticism.

not surprising after all those cancellations. The endorsement did seem a bit lame but it was perfectly timed. Now I just wonder if BB will get out before she’s humiliated in her home state.

Under no circumstances must Trump pick him for VP in an effort to win over anti Trump DeSantis voters. The guy is a snake waiting to bite (again).

Blacks will still by an overwhelming margin vote for Democrats no matter how demonstrably bad things are.

That lack of judgement is fatal for me. I’ll only vote for him if he’s the only option between him and a leftist.

"Sounds like you've got something against Italians, that it?'

Liberals always gotta bring race into everything. SMH.

"DeSantis is the Governor of the State of Florida and was duly elected by the people of the state. He represents us. So be respectful of that fact on FR threads, and keep your scatological insults to yourself."

Sure thing Sport, just as long as y'all keep your short, lift wearing deep state guv all to yourselves down there.

Is it beyond them to understand that some of us like Trump but simply saw Desantis as a younger and likely more conservative replacement?

I suspect is is for a few of them.

Trump told Fox News late Sunday that he was “very honored,” by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ endorsement for the presidential race, and that he was looking forward “to working together with him to beat Joe Biden.” Trump also criticized Biden, “who is the worst and most corrupt president in the history of our country.” (Ynet)

The site has never been this bad. And I led the cheers for Rudy G here in 2007, and I thought it was bad then.

Same here, FRiend. Back in 2007, my praises for Rudy G were mainly for his incredible skills in pulling NYC out of the hopeless, depraved morass it was before he took office as Mayor. Saw it with my own eyes, as -- most of my life -- I lived only about 100 miles north of NYC and was a frequent visitor. The transformation of the City during his administration was jaw-dropping.

The Great FR Purge of 2007 was an awful thing, and I unnecessarily lost many FRiends here. Most were banned because of stupid misunderstandings. Many weren't even advocating for Rudy for President; they were merely praising his policies as Mayor of NYC.

Similar situation in 2023-24 although there didn't seem to be as big a purge of FReepers.

2007 was nasty here, with a ton of unnecessary bannings and suspensions. Many movers & shakers and good FR donors left FR for good (or were banned) and never came back because of all the animosity among FReepers during the GOP primary.

2023-24 was/is nasty, vicious and vindictive. And -- most of all -- childish and petty.
