Mike Johnson Acknowledges Biden's Presidency Is 'God's Will'

House Speaker Mike Johnson said on Wednesday that Joe Biden's presidency is "God's will."

The Louisiana Republican and evangelical Christian took over House leadership in October following Kevin McCarthy's tumultuous tenure. Johnson, who has served in Congress since 2016 but whose platform and personal ideologies were not relatively known prior to taking the gavel, has faced scrutiny by some for views characterized by some as "dangerous." He evoked scripture during his October 25 speech, saying: "The Bible is very clear that God is the one that raises up those in authority." He said that Marxism and communism fail because their ideologies do not stress a belief in God, and he espoused a pragmatic sentiment imploring all House lawmakers to take advantage of the gifts they receive from God. On Wednesday, following a Republican conference meeting on Capitol Hill, Johnson was asked by a journalist if he thought Joe Biden's presidency was "God's will." Johnson harkened to the speech he made just before he was voted speaker.

"I said in my speech before I took the gavel that I am a Bible-believing Christian," Johnson responded. "A Bible-believing Christian believes what the Bible says, right? The Bible says that God is the one that raises up people in authority. I believe God is sovereign. By the way, so did the founders. "It must have been God's will then. That's my belief, right, but I think that a nation makes a decision collectively 'cause we're given the free will to do that, and I think we're gonna make a much better choice as a country coming up in this election cycle. We're very much looking forward to that regime change." ...

You have seriously confused His will from His plan.

Rather, it is you who has seriously confusing His directive will for man to follow,, with His will in accomplishing His plan.

In which while God's directive will for man to obey Him, yet it is God's will that man have the ability to make choices, and have alternatives to choose btwn, and ultimately btwn Him and the opposite, and thereby to effect and realize consequences (which to varying degrees and scopes, affect others), and with all of which accomplishing God's will, His plan, revealing what souls really want.

All of which He can do as knowing all that there is to know, not just in this speck of the universe and in time, but for eternity.

Did you read my post 88?

You mean did you read post 88?

. "It is important to understand that God is the ultimate government, and as the creator of the universe, He reigns supreme. He makes the decisions and lays out our path....as Samuel grew older, the people began to clamor for a king to rule them, not a prophet, so they could be like the other nations (1 Samuel 8:5...But the people insisted, so God gave them what they desired.
All of which did not happen contrary to God's will - not what He wanted to people to do so, but as said, it is God's will that man can make choices and that effect others, which thus made king Saul to be God's will due to the people acting contrary to His directive will for them to follow. . They could have done worse

And yet thru which God's overall will or plan would be accomplished.

Do you believe that all tyrannical leaders in history were ‘ordained by God” as you put it? If so then we have a huge disagreement.

Me? If is God who declares this, even of the rulers who were persecuting His body, the church!

Of course, His own crucifixion was God's/His will, again, not that men act evil, which is contrary to His directive will for their actions, but in allowing man to make choices, and thus to effect consequences, it is in accordance with His will/plan that such take place, without compelling man to do act contrary to His moral law. Man's freedom cannot thwart God's purpose and plan, none of which can be shown to be unjust unless one is omniscient.

Since it is God's will that we can make choices, and since choices must have consequential effects, then like a rock in a pond, there are ripple effect to varying degree, all in God's will, even if caused by persona acting contrary to God's directive will for their obedience.

But all of which God makes to work out to accomplish His will. His plan for man. We, as pitifully near-sighted and myopic, only see the immediate, but God acts in the light of all that there is to know.

Hope this helps.

JHVH decides everything. It’s all His plan. The good, and the bad.

As such, he’s not wrong.

Your position completely ignores Satan and evil. Everything that happens, every instance of tyranny, of violations of His laws, you explain away as His will.

Sorry, I dont accept your interpretation of His word. We arent talking about the fulfillment of the prophecies on the Cross. We are talking about evil men ruling over God fearing people.

How one walks with God is not the same as how one walks with followers of the devil.

Indeed, and every thing we do has an effect, varying in degrees and scope. Ripple effects. Eat late night snack, oversleep, rush, run stop sign/light, cause accident, delays an ambulance. Or you miss an accident, etc. So many variables.

If Johnson was going to take the bait, then he should have said, “God has raised up leaders who failed their people, because he wanted his chosen to learn their lesson when they turned away from Him. And we’re going to turn back to Him in November.” And then just snap your fingers in that MSM —————’s face and walk away.

Daniel 2:21 esv

He changes times and seasons;
he removes kings and sets up kings;
he gives wisdom to the wise and
knowledge to those who have understanding;

But secretly he may have wanted them to eat those apples anyway.

This is a Mormon talking point.

Benefits of the Fall

The Fall is an integral part of Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation.8 It has a twofold direction—downward yet forward. In addition to introducing physical and spiritual death, it gave us the opportunity to be born on the earth and to learn and progress. Through our righteous exercise of agency and our sincere repentance when we sin, we can come unto Christ and, through His Atonement, prepare to receive the gift of eternal life. The prophet Lehi taught:

“If Adam had not transgressed he would not have fallen, but he would have remained in the garden of Eden. And all things which were created must have remained in the same state in which they were after they were created; and they must have remained forever, and had no end.

“And [Adam and Eve] would have had no children; wherefore they would have remained in a state of innocence, having no joy, for they knew no misery; doing no good, for they knew no sin.

“But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things.

“Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.

“And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall.”9

Adam and Eve expressed their gratitude for the blessings that came as a result of the Fall:

“Adam blessed God and was filled, and began to prophesy concerning all the families of the earth, saying: Blessed be the name of God, for because of my transgression my eyes are opened, and in this life I shall have joy, and again in the flesh I shall see God.

“And Eve, his wife, heard all these things and was glad, saying: Were it not for our transgression we never should have had seed, and never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth unto all the obedient.”10

I have the soundtrack. The film was good too.
I even liked Clooney in it.

If someone fails to believe the bible, then they can create any (or none) kind of ‘god’ that they wish.
