Okay. We should adjust our economy so that office workers are paid 2-3 days a week.

Elon Musk tells employees to return to office or ‘pretend to work’ elsewhere

I get it if you prefer to goof off at home "pretending" to work.

Women don’t want to brave the streets of Midtown Manhattan.

The irony is that it is primarily women voters that empowered the democrat trash to turn NYC, SF, Chicago, etc into the unliveable toilets that they are today...

I’m an engineer with projects designed by myself. I just had my review, and exceeded all expectations.
I accomplish more work than others because shitbird middle managers can’t swing by and bother me with their useless concerns.
Are you middle management?
Our talent pool is now the entire US. People like you will lose.
Elon Musk is a mentally ill workaholic.

Women have zero accountability for their actions.

In companies with actual performance goals and dedicated IT-monitoring on company-provided equipment, a company can tell if remote workers are only “pretending”.

But then again, I guess Elon’s word is gospel on everything; no need to hear anecdotes and personal stories from actual Freepers as to whether working remotely has been beneficial or not.

Even without the IT capabilities, my projects have metrics which are based on previous designs of every designer in the company. I’m always in the top 10%, and that’s where I’ll stay. Was number one at a former job, and all it got me was more work, no pay.

I hear what they said. It's all anecdotal.

Elon Musk is a titan of industry. So I'm taking Elon's word over theirs. Sorry FReepers.

I recognize that there's some benefit to remote work. Of course, I am not going to argue that. Each situation is different.

But if you look at the big picture. It's clear to me that remote work is pretty detrimental. We get lazy. There's less accountability. Human beings will take advantage of this.

Hey, Mayor Moron can grab that building and stuff it to the gills with ILLEGAL CRIMINAL INVADERS that he so loves. Sure would beat pushing citizens’ children out of their rightful school building to house the criminals.

LOL. You have no idea what you're talking about.

I moved my entire company to a 100% remote operation during COVID -- out of necessity. And I'm never going back.

It works great for your company because it is small and nimble.

But not for larger companies and the government.

Good post.

Most regional banks in the US are insolvent—since the true value (not the phony book value) of their commercial real estate loans would show total losses that exceed the banks’ total equity.

Bank balance sheets are total lies.

Most office cultures are toxic—especially in this age of woke madness.

Commuting is a brutal waste of time.

Working from home was wonderful for me—both for my happiness and productivity.

I am retired now fwiw.

It's a necessary evil at this point. If everyone is woke, you can just pretend to be woke and lay low.

Pretending to be woke day after day after day is a good way to die young from heart failure and/or cancer.

Humans need to be able to express themselves honestly or the stress will wear down their immune system and overall health.

"After shouldering a wave of defaults from landlords, banks are sitting on as much as $160 million in losses on loans to the commercial real estate market"

Well seeing Blackstone alone defaulted on 300 million. I think the above statement should be 160 BILLION?

That’s why I don’t make broad, sweeping generalizations.

I suspect most government workers wouldn’t be missed if their jobs disappeared.

And work schedules are a matter between employers and employees. I can’t imagine how anyone with half a brain would have the audacity to say that people working in an employer’s office for 2-3 days per week should only be paid for 2-3 days per week.
