It appears former President Donald Trump and Gov. Doug Burgum’s (R-ND) relationship is strengthening, as the former president said he hopes to have the governor as a “very important” part of his administration.
Some in Trump’s orbit are even talking about him as a potential running mate or cabinet secretary, Breitbart News has learned.
During his victory speech after the Iowa Caucuses on Monday, Trump had high praise for Burgum, calling him “one of the best governors in the country” and a “solid guy.” Trump emphasized that Burgum had supported him in 2016 and 2020 before declaring he hopes to have the governor in his administration if he wins in November.

If I’m a betting man, it will be Kristi Noem for VP.
Over merit?
I like Noem, but I don’t want a VP that checks off the woman or POC box. Merit or not, it reeks of tokenism.
My dream ticket is Trump/Sanders but I trust the judgment of PDJT.
What would it mean for North Dakota? Who’d get custody?
He should pick Vivek.
Sanders in Arkansas would be better but Noem is the “Smoke Show”.
She checks off a lot more boxes than her gender. She’s a capable governor who also served in Congress. She’s cute as hell. Her rural upbringing is a good balance for Trump’s New York City big-mouth persona.
And you can never, ever go wrong with a rancher’s daughter from a Great Plains state. :-)
I think he will pick JD Vance for VP. I think Vivek will be Trump’s Secretary of State.
Two years ago, I was SO disappointed that Noem killed the SD bill that would have banned transgender women and girls from female sports in SD. Then later she issued weaker executive orders that include restrictions. That was nothing but political face-saving.
She initially said she was excited to sign the bill, but found herself caught in a political mess, facing tough lobbying from business interests and legal threats. She then caved.
Bernie Sanders?
I will look. Don’t misunderstand me, I am sure there are very capable women out there. I am a believer however, that men and women are of different stock. At this very volatile and dangerous time, I honestly prefer testosterone.
Oooh, I like that. Unfortunately, that would rob the Senate of an incredibly potent conservative voice. He pretty much just started his term.
Women and men are hardwired differently. Women are better with babies and little kids. Men are more equipped to deal with politics and can lead great nations.
It doesn't mean that men or women is the superior sex, we just have different strengths and weaknesses.
Anyone who has had a political career will backstab him the moment the RNC says to do so.
People from outside government are the only way to avoid Swamp filth. They won’t be maneuvering for their step upwards.
” She initially said she was excited to sign the bill, but found herself caught in a political mess, facing tough lobbying from business interests and legal threats. She then caved. “
That’s the dead give-away for a donor controlled GOPe.
Ignore what they say. Watch what they do.
Still way too many on FR who are:
1). fooled by speeches, while ignoring actions and donors
2). believe in “electionism” and popular support, rather than realizing that institutional captue is more important
>>Men are more equipped to deal with politics and can lead great nations.
Queen Elizabeth, Catherine the Great, Indira Ghandi?
The Mt Rushmore event is one I regret not watching. Now that I am reminded, I will look it up.
I, a woman, agree but there are exceptions such as Margaret Thatcher.
Agree. Kristi Norm.
