AJC poll: Trump leads Biden in pivotal Georgia
Atlanta Journal and Constitution ^ | Jan 16, 2024 | By Greg Bluestein and Michelle Baruchman

President Joe Biden trails former President Donald Trump in a head-to-head rematch in Georgia, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll of registered voters that shows the Republican with a solid 45% to 37% lead over the Democratic incumbent.

The poll showed nearly 20% of Georgians weren’t ready to support either candidate as the presidential race shifts from Iowa after Trump’s dominant victory Monday in the first nominating contest of the 2024 election cycle.

Biden is hurt by soft support among many Democratic and independent voters who were crucial to his narrow 2020 victory over Trump in Georgia, including 10% of Black voters who say they don’t plan to vote in the White House race at all.

Compounding Biden’s struggles in Georgia are his low approval ratings. About 62% of registered voters are critical of the president’s job performance, and a slim majority say they “strongly disapprove” of the Democrat.

The president’s backing among independents is dismal, with only 37% giving him favorable reviews compared with 54% who disapprove of his performance. And Black voters, the party’s most loyal constituency, are split over his handling of the nation’s top office.

Trump faces his own challenges in a state where he has gone to war with Republican incumbents who refused his demands to overturn the election results in 2020. Nearly one-fifth of Republicans say they don’t plan on supporting Trump’s comeback or are undecided.

The poll was conducted Jan. 3-11 by the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs and involved 1,007 registered voters. The margin of error is 3.1 percentage points.

The AJC’s November poll on the presidential race and national issues showed Trump and Biden essentially tied, with Trump at 45% and Biden at 44%. ...

With the border chaos and three years of Biden marginal efforts, I’d near 50-percent of blacks no longer see Biden or the Democratic Party as a ‘solution’. If anything in 2024...this dynamic of black voter-shift...will be a problem.

Watch out for Kemp, just like Sununu in New Hampshire. Big time RINO.

I’d call him a Democrat plant.

But that would be an insult to plants.................

*********

Voter shift is always a concern. In
either case age, term of service is
part of the equation. Biden/Trump
have only one term left. In either
case age is a factor to be weighted.

I personally would prefer the option
of a candidate that could serve two
full terms if elected.

Pivitol? It wouldn’t be if they didn’t have a couple of RINOs who suffer from terminal cases of TDS running the place.

They are planning to have another water main break at 10:30pm. This time the shades will cover you the windows all day...

That will all change when Big Mike is inserted into the race. The wayward blacks will go running back to the plantation.

Biden/Trump have only one term left.

Exactly, and that's why it's so important for Trump to choose the right person for VP. The voters haven't forgotten his era of peace and prosperity, and I think they'll take it again for one term. Knowing Trump has an ace coming in from the bullpen will make a big difference.

Legit Gov’t ID required to vote in GA. Barcodes on the back of the ID are scanned when you first enter the facility.

No more water main breaks, no coming back at a later time. The 2021 GA law requires counting to continue straight through until all ballots counted.

Probably 90% of drop boxes eliminated in GA. The remaining drop boxes must be at a public facility (not on the street corner). Hours are 7AM to 7PM, boxes must be locked after hours.

Mail-in ballots require the recipient to show ID and fill out the application by hand themselves. A New York Times report said that mail-in ballots dropped by 80% between the 2020 General Election and the 2022 General Election. Something like 15 out of 16 votes in the 2022 General Election were cast in-person.

Libs and the MSM went beserk when the new voting law passed in 2021 yelling about ‘voter suppression’. However, stats show that voting by blacks actually increased in 2022, and polls showed that no blacks reported problems voting.

Trump is in good shape in GA.

Stop the big cheat in Fulton and Dekalb Counties and Trump wins, period.

It turned out that the water main problem was all just a hyped up excuse to shut down (from view) vote counting and keep tabulating. The water ‘problem’ in the stadium was a very minor one not affecting anything having to do with voting.

The governor and SOS supported the cheating in Fulton and Dekalb counties.

Nobody was prosecuted for doing it.

In fact the only prosecution going on is a witch hunt against President Trump for telling the truth about the stolen election.

I agree and as a Georgia voter I am appalled that Kemp and Ratburger got so far in Georgia government.

Something smells very funny down there in Georgia .gov.

It is a weird enough stench to support David Icke’s explanations...

Trump led Biden in 2020. Georgia was always Trump country. 2024 will be no different. The fraud machine in GA is in full force. Hopefully the there will not be an election in November. Hopefully there is going to be an intervention. Trump recently said he will not allow another stolen election.

The poll showed nearly 20% of Georgians weren’t ready to support either candidate

That’s pretty high. Could cause the state to go either direction.
