"I noticed that he threw -- um -- Vivek under the bus. I've seen a candidate run for an office and basically campaign for another candidate in the same race before, but that's what's happened. And the minute he wasn't useful they dropped the hammer on him. That's just the way they are.
We're going to go forward as a party. We can go forward in a way that's focused on peoples' issues and a great agenda for America, or we can go forward with Trump, which will be focused, the 2024 election, on legal issues, criminal trials, convictions, on all these things with January 6. That gives the Democrats a huge advantage going forward. And I don't think we want to do that, why would we give them any advantage?"

Trump is for Trump. Period. Full stop.
Trump is campaigning on his issues. Haley is campaigning on her donors' issues. DeSantis is campaigning on YOUR issues.
I’d have done the same thing, so what.
Politics are tough, cry baby.
Actually Ron, it was the other way around. Trump did not need Vivek. Vivek needed Trump.
One of my problems with DeSantis is that he seems rather clueless and not all that bright at times.
>> “I noticed that he threw — um — Vivek under the bus... the minute he wasn’t useful they dropped the hammer on him. That’s just the way they are.”
What chutzpah! You, Ronnie boi, used President Trump for a leg up when you needed it most... and instead of moving forward with President Trump in loyalty and support, the minute your ambition and poor advice got the best of you, you dropped the hammer on President Trump and threw him under the bus.
GFY, Ronnie Boi DeSanctimonious, you hypocrite. Enjoy your single digit support — you deserve it! Your political career is FINISHED, and I think you know it.
“Politics ain’t beanbag.”
This line of attack won’t take DeSantis very far.
That is not true.
“Trump is campaigning on his issues. Haley is campaigning on her donors’ issues. DeSantis is campaigning on YOUR issues.”
You like DeSantis, we get it. Nothing wrong with that. But to suggest Trump has anything but the citizens and the Country’s best interests at heart is disingenuous. Is there an underlying agenda? Of course there is, just like every other politician who has ever held or run for office.
What bothers me the most about people who didn’t vote for Trump is their abject hatred of the man, damn his policies which were very successful in his four years in office. And this is despite every establishment organization trying to destroy him. He survived and thrived.
It is in my view dirty politics but it is what it is.
Trump is hoping to break above 50% of the vote in the Iowa caucuses. If he can knock out and take some of the single digits of support for Vivek, he can get it. THAT is why Trump did what he did.
Trump is trying to end the primary season early by dominating enough early primaries and caucuses. If he can do that he preserves cash for the general election. Getting above 50% in Iowa is a start on that objective.
For all the claims that Trump is “not a politician”, the facts make a joke of that.
Trump RESPONDED to Vivek's comment.
DeSantis used Trump, used MAGA and used the voters of his state, and then threw all of them under the bus, the minute they weren't useful to his presidential ambitions.
Similar to Democrats, and the uniparty, DeSantis uses projection to deny his own short comings.
Vivek’s vote for me to save Trump line was pretty lame.
He did no such thing. You live in a fantasy world.
I don’t think he has the inner confidence to deal and effectively combat the 24/7 s**tshow that would be dropped on him by the RATs and their media arm if he was the nominee. His campaign is clearly being run by the GOPe and we know how they cower in the face of danger!
>> Trump is campaigning on his issues. Haley is campaigning on her donors’ issues. DeSantis is campaigning on YOUR issues.
FRiend, THAT bovine excrement statement of your is what isn’t true.
Some people can’t get it through their heads that it’s Trump or continued and accelerating decline, period. He’s the only one standing up for America, a political Patton just when we need one.
VERY well said. Thank you!
Watching the Trump/Ramaswamy dustup play out in real time on social media was so strange that it started to look like WWF kayfabe.
Ron should have just left this alone, he didn’t do himself any favors.
Vivek blew it. He posted a picture of a bunch of himself with a bunch of guys wearing a T shirt that said “Save Trump - Vote for Vivek”.
In other words, Trump is going to jail, so vote for the only candidate who promised to pardon him.
That is sleazy and wrong in so many ways I’m not even going to list them.
I used to like Vivek but when I saw that I lost all respect.
Trump didn’t throw Vivek under the bus - it was the other way around.
DeSantis could have been a shoe-in if he had waited his turn. He could even have been Trump’s VP in ‘24, and walked on in ‘28. Either his greed, or the greed of his handlers blew his chances. Once he realized that he got pissy and childish. Perhaps we dodged a bullet with DeSantis. He seems a lot like Chris Cristy or George Conway at this stage: butthurt and immature.
You presume to know what my issues are, so please tell me what my issues are?
Because quite frankly I will never vote for DeSantis as he has exposed himself as being for himself. You are projecting who DeSantis really is, upon whom you believe is only about himself, even though there is plenty of evidence that shows that Trump is the only president in modern history who left the presidency with less personal wealth than when he entered office.
That is why people have dropped support for DeSantis in droves. Well, that along with his exposing himself to be a dufus who is not a leader at all. If he were a leader, he would have stayed put as the Governor of Florida. But he is too eager to reach for that top rung of the political world, where he can retire with 400K paid to him by the citizens. The fact that he is aligned with the Republican faction of the Uni-party speaks volumes for those with brains who employ critical thinking skills.
