Former State Department Official Warns Military is Planning to Derail Trump Presidency

“Treason”.

A former State Department official has warned that deep state insiders and elements of the military are planning to derail Trump’s presidency should he win the election.

On Sunday, NBC reported that “a loose-knit network of public interest groups and lawmakers” are planning to use lawfare and other tactics to block Trump from exercising power on day one of his return to the Oval Office.

According to the article, these insiders will go all out “to foil any efforts to expand presidential power,” even if Trump has been given a mandate to do so by the American people.

“Those taking part in the effort told NBC News they are studying Trump’s past actions and 2024 policy positions so that they will be ready if he wins in November,” states the article. “That involves preparing to take legal action and send letters to Trump appointees spelling out consequences they’d face if they undermine constitutional norms.”

However, critics say that the plan is clearly part of an effort to have the military override Trump’s constitutional authority as president.

“Never forget this tweet for the rest of your life,” wrote Mike Benz, executive director for Foundation For Freedom Online and former State Department official.

“This is an admitted plan, in advance, for the military to no longer observe the military chain of command. This is military-run government. This is a plan to end civilian-run government,” he added.

Commentator Michael Malice suggested that the plan was tantamount to “treason”.

Others agreed that the plot amounted to a clear indication that the establishment was ready to resort to treason to stop Trump fulfilling any kind of democratic mandate.

You're literally admitting to a group plotting treason. You realize that, right? And that you are admitting to being an accessory to it.

Just thought you should know that and you may want to go read up on the penalties.

Another respondent pointed out that the woman credited with organizing this plan, Mary B. McCord, is coordinating an “effort to strip Trump of his power as commander in chief.”

McCord is an ardent anti-Trump deep state asset, having approved FISA warrants to surveil Carter Page, a former Trump campaign aide.

Under the Biden administration, the U.S. Military has pursued increasingly inane ‘woke’ policies that have severely impacted recruitment figures.

Last week, it was revealed that the number of new white U.S. Army recruits had dropped from 44,042 in 2018 to just 25,070 in 2023.

“”This is the new BS narrative and it’s everywhere. The military loved Trump.””

The regular ones do but not the higher up ones - like Milley

“They work for the executive branch right? Fire them, fire lots of them. Pursue them with criminally if they are shown abusing their power. They’re not special or entitled, they’re to do a job as demanded by their leadership. Or work somewhere else.”

Actually, on his first day Trump should require all appointed officials to submit their resignation.
And, as you suggested the same for other non-elected personnel in the executive branch.

One little side note; those who believe that current high level officials in State, Defence, Military, etc; should be mindful that our elite combat units consist of a very high percent of Legacy personnel. Meaning they are sons, daughters, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, (you get the idea) of veterans. Anyone who believes these units will turn on their own people is having a wet dream. It won’t happen…

“That involves preparing to take legal action and send letters to Trump appointees spelling out consequences they’d face if they undermine constitutional norms.”

Good thing the Army of the Potomac wasn’t reviewing “norms” before crossing into Virginia.

As I re-read Watergate, I am struck that a process has been going on behind the scenes for 50+ years to erase Article II’s promise of a unitary executive. Remember how Nixon’s biggest offense in Congress and the media was giving orders to the Attorney General and firing him when he disobeyed?

AS IF

As if the Executive Departments were not under the command of the Chief Executive. As if Congress and the Courts SHARED the power, as if we really had a triune executive whose actions required preapproval.

And look at the result by 2017.

The word “norms” is a very slippery one. The Constitution does not have “norms”, or, if it does, they are meaningless in the face of officers exercising reserve powers.

I don’t think Trump is up to actions of Lincoln’s scope, but he better review Lincoln’s message calling forth the militia if he has any idea of actually doing anything if re-elected.

I have never believed patriots getting slaughtered by eth Army would or even could make a Civil War. But giving orders not to obey the chain of command, with some officers remaining loyal and others going over to the enemy?

That would do the trick.

A majority of the soldiers do. It’s the brass that’s the problem. Too many Vindmans.

Check his bank statements.

He was offered SECDEF Ukraine (at which point his commission should have been recalled), but I'm sure COL Vindman is doing very well right now.

“Just like they did during trump’s first term... nothing new here, move along.”

And just like the first term, Trump will be stymied and will lack the courage to fight back in a meaningful way. And his 4 years will largely be a cluster-f*CK, like his first term was. Unless I am mistaken, and I hope I am.

Advice to the President: Read up on what president Lincoln did in 1861 (Declared martial law, suspended habitus corpus, threw treasonous elements in jail or banished them to the Dry Tortugas (Similar to todays Gitmo))

Time to play hardball against the left.

If the United States military is actually conspiring to try to derail a Trump presidency, it is THE UNITED STATES MILITARY THAT MUST BE DERAILED FROM SUCH TREASON. It is high treason and an assault on the U.S. Constitution. If the American people elect Donald Trump as President, U.S. military officers opposed to the will of the people MUST RESIGN. That is their ONLY course of action if they cannot serve the U.S. Constitution to which they swore an oath.

Do they want a civil war? Because this is how you get a civil war.

Once the US military takes out a duly-elected President, the US military becomes an enemy of the US.

All bets are off at that point.

Not sure Trump needs to expand the power. He needs to fire Biden appointees, the upper half or most of the FBI, CIA and state dept. He has the power. Everyone will complain but it is needed and totally justified.
