“We need allies” is the old saw when the spectre of raising NATO arises. Other than the UK occasionally, is there any war in the last 100 years we won because we had continental European allies or lost because we didn’t have continental European allies? There is never going to be a land war in the US from China or Iran or Russia because their troops and equipment will be destroyed by us in the intercontinental transport.
The threat will be the new tech that comes from the skies and space and as such, European allies are useless to us. Trump is right. Time for Europe to grow up and defend themselves
It’s still just one guy’s version. They are just repeating his version without independent confirmation.
Especially with Turkey as a member. Turkey is using NATO, and eventually they will become our enemy.

Apparently, that was a negotiating ploy to get Europe to spend more on defense. It worked and was dropped. It’s being resurrected now as part of Biden’s scare campaign. This doesn’t seem orchestrated to you?
This exchange started out with "seems phony," moved to "no independent verification" and then somehow no longer "phony" but rather now a part of Biden's BS. All in about an hour's time. So "phony" and not "phony" but part of a scare campaign. I don't think this exchange serves any further purpose.
We are pro-Trump, and will vote for him a third time, if given the chance.
If they only paid their committed two billion plus 10% under the table for the big guy.

He may have uttered those phrases but look at how they are reported, completely devoid of any context. As if Trump flew to Europe, walked in, said a few words, and walked out of this “meeting” and flew home. Ridiculous.
If I could guess at it, if he said something along those lines at all, it was more like “if you don’t put in the money you have pledged, NATO is dead because the US can’t fund a disproportionate amount of European defense forever. You put yourselves in a bad position - what if we end up bogged down in another part of the world? We won’t be able to come to your defense. Buy more US made weapons, fund the share you are treaty bound to cover, and we can talk further about the future of NATO”
Sounds more reasonable that way. Though I’m purely speculating of course, this would be more consistent with how I understand Trump’s views on negotiating and his views about NATO and government waste and corruption and people who act in Bad faith who don’t deliver what they promised . But they can pick out a few key words from a longer conversation - which the media loves to do - and it is designed to be pure misinformation.
There’s still time for you to get into the fray.
I hesitate to use the Left's new "gaming" words. Lying seems quite adequate enough.
