‘I did nothing wrong’ Trump says in dramatic moment at close of NY civil fraud trial

***

The dramatic moment unfolded after three Trump lawyers each made their final pitch to Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron, arguing that the claims and proposed $370 million fine against the former president were “manufactured.”

“I did nothing wrong, they should pay me for what we’ve had to go through,” Trump, 77, said of New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office ***

Engoron — who has said he expects to issue a decision on the non-jury case by the end of the month – ruled Wednesday that Trump couldn’t participate in closing arguments because he hadn’t agreed to stick to “relevant, material facts.”

Just before the court’s lunch break on Thursday, though, Trump attorney asked Engoron if his client could speak. “If I let you speak, do you promise to just stick to the law and the facts?” Engoron asked Trump, who sat at the defense table, flanked by his attorneys.

But the real estate tycoon — wearing a blue suit, white shirt and red tie — didn’t answer the question and instead launched into a rambling speech over Engoron’s protests that “this is not how this should have been done.”

“This case goes outside of just the facts,” Trump said as he began addressing the judge from his seat. “The facts are that the financial statements were perfect, the banks were as happy as can be.” “This is not a consumer fraud. What happened here, Sir, is a fraud on me,” he said.

“We have a situation where I’m an innocent man,” Trump said. “I’ve been persecuted.”

Trump ***then started making political attacks, including calling the case a “political witch hunt” and muttering about the judge, “I know you have your own agenda.”

“Mr. Kise, please control your client,” an annoyed Engoron responded.

That seems pretty factual, and clearly backed up by the evidence.

In 12 months (whether Trump becomes president or not) Deep State heads are going to roll off the guillotine.

Engmoron and his cannibal accomplice James, will be nowhere to be found. True justice is going to be met out, and the Golden Calf globohomos will be gnashing their teeth. Pain is coming.

Engoron the egregious moron went WAY beyond the bounds of jurisprudence, and in a sane world, would have been dismissed from the case already, and facing loss of the bench altogether and total disbarment from the practice of law.

Of course, New York, city and state, are not the venue of a sane world.

Unless he is held in contempt, Trump cannot be locked up. This is a civil fraud trial where equitable relief is being sought. It is NOT a criminal trial.

Time behind bars isn't a consideration. This is about 370 million dollars of fines and forfeitures of business licenses and assets, for him and his family.

I thought for a trial like this, the aggrieved party has to show proof of damages.

He is a political prisoner to the Barak Regime.

Remember what happened to Eugene V Debs and what Democrat Woodrow Wilson did to him?

President Trump figured out early on Egnorant was all bluff and bluster (read that email exchange with Trump's attorney, who played Egnorant's simp azz for the appeal record), then when Egnorant's gal friday was openly revealed as a neomarxist, Egnorant had to back down.

Not necessarily. The thing is that cases are never brought without someone being harmed and sueing or siccing LE after the offender. Since no lawyers can agree on 2 = 2 = 4, it seems, no one wants to go out on a limb and say, there is no precedent - NONE - for this case. The esteemed MS James made it the issue all by her lonely, except for her political comrades. It is all political BS.

Assuming President Trump is fined for $370M, where does the money go? Was any party actually defrauded out of any money and due damages?

Listing the size of some of his properties as three times the actual square footage - something Trump has admitted to doing- is “wrong.”

However, as that information was primarily used for securing loans that were ultimately repaid, and no complaints against him were filed by the banks that loaned him that money, the damages seem minimal, if at all.

Therefore a proper judgement would appear to be guilty of the charges, of inflating the value of his properties, but with little to no damages awarded. That’s probably not what will happen, because he’s being targeted, but Trump saying he did absolutely nothing wrong, is incorrect.

If/when he appeals, the damages may be adjusted, but I doubt it will be judged he did absolutely nothing wrong, either.

Irrespective of what this kangaroo court and Ingmoron do, DJT should abandon New York and take all his family business to Florida or Texas etc. Let the dipsticks that have been persecuting him and his family deal with the hundreds, perhaps thousands of New Yorkers that his exit leaves jobless. I would be surprised if he hasn’t been making plans....
