Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert's ex-husband has been arrested and is facing charges, CBS News Colorado Investigator Brian Maass has learned. Jayson Boebert was arrested on Tuesday, according to court records, apparently in connection with an altercation that happened Saturday with Lauren Boebert who is currently the Republican representative for Colorado's 3rd Congressional District.
The two were at a restaurant in Silt. Police had previously said the incident was under investigation.
Court records show that Jayson Boebert was arrested Tuesday for charges including misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief.
Garfield County Jail records confirm he was arrested and then released. The total bond was set at $2,500.
In previous reporting, Jayson Boebert was the one who called police following the restaurant incident and claimed he was a victim of domestic violence during the altercation.
The couple divorced last year.
Boebert narrowly won reelection in Colorado's 3rd district in 2022 by around 500 votes. In recent weeks, she announced that she plans to run in 2024 in a neighboring district more friendly to conservatives. In her statement to CBS on Sunday, Boebert said the alleged incident over the weekend is "another reason I'm moving."
I can’t see any way Boebert stays in Congress in 2015. She had alienated so many RINOS in so many ways.
If they want to physically hurt you, they will use an object. Their tiny hands almost can’t do anything.
However, one strategy that women will use is that they bruise easier than men. So, they will use their forearms to slam into you. Because their forearms are all banged up, it looks like the man was trying to strike and she was defending herself from the hits because her forearms are all banged up.
I’m a big Boebert fan from Texas and can’t vote for her but I would if I could because she’s one of the few that stand up regularly and says FY to The Left.
I hope she gets re-elected. We need her LOUD voice in Congress.
Having survived two divorces, I know that activities of all parties including judges, lawyers, cops and litigants should be held to extreme suspicion at all times and in the end, as long as the kids are not hurt, tend to end up being “much ado about nothing”

She was always crazy, even before this. She might have had the right politics, but there are people who can be ideologically sound and yet be mentally unstable. Unfortunately nowadays, close to sane seems to be deemed “good enough”.

She was young when she got married and it appears that her (ex)husband is physically abusive.
