Hunter Biden’s artwork was purchased by Democratic donors, ethics agreement a sham, Comer says

On Tuesday, the House Oversight Committee learned in testimony from the owner of Hunter Biden’s art gallery that a majority of the first son’s artwork was purchased by Joe Biden’s Democratic donors.

The art gallery owner—Georges Bergès—also told the committee that he never communicated with the White House about the supposed ethics agreement that the Biden Administration previously claimed was governing Hunter Biden’s “work within his profession,” which included his art career.

“The Biden White House appears to have deceived the American people about facilitating an ethics agreement governing the sale of Hunter Biden’s art. Hunter Biden’s gallerist never had any communication with the White House about such an agreement to make sure there was any sort of ethics compliance at all, and he provided information to the committee revealing how Hunter Biden’s amateur art career is an ethics nightmare,” Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said in a press release after the art gallery owner’s testimony.

“The vast majority of Hunter Biden’s art has been purchased by Democrat donors, one of whom was appointed by President Biden to a prestigious commission after she purchased Hunter Biden’s art for tens of thousands of dollars shortly after Joe Biden’s inauguration. The White House has a lot of explaining to do about misleading the American people,” Comer continued.

Then-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters in July 2021 that “a system has been established that allows for Hunter Biden to work in his profession within reasonable safeguards […] But all interactions regarding the selling of art and the setting of prices will be handled by a professional gallerist, adhering to the highest industry standards. And any offer out of the normal course would be rejected out of hand.”

However, Bergès told the committee that a majority of Hunter Biden’s art was purchased by Democratic donors,...”

Even worse - some poor donor is sitting on a whole warehouse full of Kamala Harris’s books. :)

To bad we don’t get to see the art work and the prices.
Can you imagine what insight everyone would have into the propriety of these transactions if we could all see the amazing art Hunter has created and the negligible prices his works earned?

What a coincidence! The purchasers of the artwork just happen to get cushy jobs in the Biden Administration!

Pretty much as I had always figured, except I expect many pieces were bought by foreigners.

After all this hand-wringing here on FR, this is the first time I've actually seen what BribeBoy painted. I'm sorry there aren't any prices attached to the various pieces, as that would be even more interesting.

Maybe JoJo got a cut but one of the donors/buyers did very well. The Big Guy made sure that the donor’s niece was released by Hamas.

Years ago no one dared to take an American citizen as a hostage. Now donors to Biden are released from captivity. Regular citizens rot in captivity. Illegals at our border get 5k and a cell phone. Free medical care too.

“can’t look any worse than the crap Picasso painted.”

Some years ago while touring Europe as part of a study group, we went to a small museum in Spain that had some of Picasso’s early works when very young, The pics were normal ones of landscapes and portraits of people. They were all excellent and beautifully painted. Too bad he went off in another direction when older as he was a very good artist in actuality.
