The good news from the University of New Hampshire poll of Granite State Republican Primary voters is that Ron DeSantis doesn’t have much further to fall ahead of the open contest Jan. 23.
The bad news is that he’s at 5%, behind Donald Trump (39%), Nikki Haley (32%), Chris Christie (12%) and Vivek Ramaswamy (8%). And given that only 40% of DeSantis’ supporters say they are “definitely decided,” the data suggests his hard support is around 2%.

DeSantis has always been in bed with the GOPe, from the day he was elected governor and earlier. There are actually very few governors who aren’t. It’s built into the system. You can’t run for that high an office without money, and the only people with deep enough pockets to help you do so, always want something in return.
Trump refuses interviews from those who would question him from conservative positions. BTW, who has Ron ducked?
I agree that eight persons on stage is a joke of a forum. But now it’s down to Ron and “Nikki”. I doubt that Trump could place first in that group.
A very old one as well….something that people keep forgetting around here.
He will be the oldest ever I believe if he wins the 2nd term. But that doesn’t matter as he is Omnipotent….according to some.
I mean look at how awful Biden is as a senile old man, even more leftist than he was as a senator (and yes he was bad then). Because people behind the scenes are controlling him.
Here is now senile Biden as a younger man calling for tough crime control measures 30 years ago: Don’t see that anymore do you, why? Partially because of his ADVANCED AGE!!!

The baby is innocent, and also unfortunate not to have a mother. Rubin is a good dude who thinks about other men. Who can figure?
I don’t know who Ron has ducked or hasn’t ducked, but I don’t see him sparring with the likes of Stephanopoulos, Leslie Stahl, or others of their ilk, the way that Trump has.

Check back with me in a week, after Trump beats both of the in Iowa by a wide margin.
Just to follow up on my previous comment regarding the debates, even if it were down to just DeSantis and Haley, the format of the debate would still be three against one. What’s the point? Trump has been willing to debate under worse situations than that in the past, so it’s not a question of cowardice, it’s a question of smarts. There’s nothing to be gained by him from doing it. Haley and DeSantis need Trump to help them get more exposure. Why would or should Trump give that to them? Let them generate their own publicity.
I did not say that Trump will lose Iowa, but I think he would lose a debate to DeSantis. We may never know.
CNN interrogators hate all Republicans.
“The grifting and gaslighting will be over soon and hopefully DeSantis learns something from this and soon finds peace.”
Hopefully any Freepers who got sucked into the DeSantis astroturf campaign learn something from this and soon find peace.
I agree, that is PRECISELY what happened. A seduction to which he should never have given credence.
He should have been STRONGER AND WISER.
“DeSantis is the most conservative candidate remaining”
Do true conservatives really lie and backstab? I don’t think so.
“Ron has alienated no one”
I guess that depends on what your definition of “alienated” is.
“His flip-flop on Ukraine funding put him in a deep hole “
That was the most glaring thing for me. One day he takes the position that Trump has. A day or two later, he said the opposite. If every word out of his mouth is put there by handlers, like a recorder in a Chatty Cathy doll, he has no character. Or, he has bad character. He definitely has no core values if he can flip-flop on something as important as a major war in 72 hours.
“RDS is the most relaxed, non-panicked guy whom I have ever seen on the campaign trail.”
You kinda have to have a pulse to panic.
Is there a drop-dead date when a candidate has to declare a run for the Presidency? Can someone jump in at any time prior to a state’s primary?
A good question
Yes, he pushed back and won against evil for 5 years in Florida, without registering a pulse! What more he could have done with a faint heartbeat!
Ten minutes ago I spoke to my friend who has spent winters in FL for 30 years. He and several of his friends are selling their places there because the insurance rates have increased ridiculously over the last five years.
What are the reasons for the insurance increases? I know that in PA, my car insurance rates have skyrocketed.
