Jim Jordan Exposes DOJ Scheme To Spy On Congressional Republicans
American Liberty ^ | 01/09/2024 | Donny Ferguson

U.S. Chairman Jim Jordan (R-) is demanding Attorney General Merrick Garland explain what appears to be an illicit scheme to spy on congressional Republicans.

Jordan has now subpoenaed Garland to force him to turn over information on Justice Department attempts to seize the personal records of Republican lawmakers and even Republican staffers.

The move comes after Google informed congressional Republicans the Justice Department had “subpoenaed Google in 2017 for the staffer's personal phone records and emails during the period when Senator [Charles] Grassley was conducting vigorous oversight of the Department's handling of the so-called Steele dossier,” the Judiciary Committee revealed in a statement.

“Google's notification to this staffer revealed the Justice Department likely also sought the personal records and communications of other congressional staffers—both Republicans and Democrats—who engaged in oversight of the Department during the same period,” the Committee reports.

Jordan has attempted to get answers from the Justice Department on their spying on Congress, but so far DOJ has refused, forcing a congressional subpoena.

Because the DOJ has not complied in full with the Committee's requests, it cannot independently determine whether the DOJ sought to alleviate the heightened separation-of-powers sensitivities involved or whether the DOJ first sought the information through other means before resorting to legal process,” the Committee reports.

There are concerns DOJ's scheme to spy on Congress could go even deeper.

“The Committee also has concerns that aspects of the DOJ's investigation may have been a pretext to justify piercing the Legislative Branch's deliberative process and improperly access data from Members and staff involved in conducting oversight of the Department,” the Committee reports.

It is a government of the government, by the government, for the government. They don’t need voters or Congress anymore.

The Meritless Garland is a fascist.

He has certainly been acting like one.

Getting harder not to see the hand of providence as preventing him from being on the Supreme Court.

McConnell may have had bad motives, but he did the right thing in keeping Garland from being appointed to the Supreme Court.

True.

Traitor Roberts is more than enough to suffer.

They’re wasting their breathe and time.
Just send Garland clown a strongly worded letter. It’d be just as effective!

Mitch gets way too much credit on this. He was holding the spot for HRC. He thought Trump had 0 chance of winning and said so on many occasions. If he thought Trump was going to win he would have seated Garland bank it.

I’m not defending Garland, but this was in 2017 when Sessions was AG. The rot runs deep.

NSA already spies on every member of Congress.

FBI spying is just typical government waste and inefficiency.

If you do not plan on “giving up” then at least learn what you are dealing with...

Truth is, Sen. Grassley torpedoed Garland. Mitch read the room and didn’t insist on Garland.

RE: Imagine if Republicans hadn’t recaptured the House?

With George Santos ( a reliable vote ) gone, and Kevin McCarthy and Bill Johnson leaving this year, Republicans will only have a 2 SEAT majority ( unless other Republicans replace these people who leave ).
